Austin Brauner took second place and Tejay Miellke finished third. James Roebuck won a Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMod feature for the third time at Off Road Speedway by wresting the lead from Wes Hochstein coming out of turn four with 12 laps left. Marolf, Eckrich claim Drive For 5 victories at Lee County

By Brian Neal DONNELLSON, Iowa (June 24, 2022) – Nick Marolf and Denny Eckrich were both $1,000 feature winners in round four of Drive For 5 Friday night at Lee County Speedway. Ray Raker and Darin Weisinger Jr. led the field to green in the 25-lap IMCA Sunoco Late Model main, with Weisinger sliding past Raker on lap two to take over the top spot. Coming off turn two to complete lap eight, Marolf went three-wide off the top of the track to emerge with the lead, with Chuck Hanna moving into the runner-up spot one lap later. Hanna’s run up front came to an end on lap 16, as he slowed and pulled into the pits with mechanical troubles.  This handed the second spot to Dalton Simonsen. Without a caution to bunch the field there was no catching Marolf on this night, as he went on to score the $1,000 victory. Tommy Elston came from 10th to finish third. IMCA Stock Cars are spectacular at Shawano

By Scott J. Owen SHAWANO, Wis. (June 25, 2022) – Though the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car division is known as The Class Too Tough To Tame, it doesn’t always feature a three-wide battle for the lead for nearly half of the race.  But Saturday night at Shawano Speedway it sure did with Trent Nolan prevailing for his fourth win of the year.  Fresh off an impressive heat race win earlier in the evening, Dylan Stedjee took the lead on lap one. Tyler Wendt pressured Stedjee from the start, pulled alongside the leader on more than one occasion while Kyle Frederick, Nolan and Luke Lemmens joined the battle at the front of the field.  Frederick pulled to the outside of Stedjee on lap seven to take the lead.  Lemmens quickly made it three-wide for the lead with Frederick and Stedjee.  Frederick continued to lead as Lemmens ran second and Nolan moved to third.  On lap 11, Frederick, Lemmens and Nolan began their three-wide battle for the win that would continue for the final nine laps of the race.  Most often [Read More]

Jared makes it Miller Time at CJ Speedway

COLUMBUS JUNCTION, Iowa (June 24, 2022) – Jared Miller has seen his motor luck go from bad to worse so far this season, but still had a good feeling going into his IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock main event Friday night at CJ Speedway. Those positive vibes became reality after the West Branch driver drew the pole start and held off heavy hitters Randy LaMar and John Irwin following a late restart for the checkers. The win was his career second in the IMCA class and first since 2010 at then-hometown Marshalltown Speedway. “We’ve blown up four engines so far this year, including one leading the feature here at Columbus Junction a couple weeks ago,” said Miller. “But I had a good feeling about tonight. I thought if I made it through the heat race and everything stayed together I had a good chance to win.” He had started the night by winning his heat, then went to the top side, held his line and outran all challengers following that late yellow. “The caution came out [Read More]

By Jerry Mackey  COLUMBUS JUNCTION, Iowa (June 24, 2022) – Friday night, history was made at the CJ Speedway as victory lane welcomed the first female driver in recent history. It happened in the very tough IMCA Sunoco Stock Car division. Leah Wroten made her third consecutive trip to CJ Speedway and started the main event in the second row. Wroten took the lead on lap five from Kenny O’Donnell and went on to make history by winning the main event in convincing fashion. A late-race caution bunched the field up but Wroten held her line and sailed on to the win ahead of Tom Cannon and O’Donnell. When asked if he could remember the last time a woman made her way to victory lane, promoter Larry Richardson was stumped and could not remember when or if it had happened. The Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature saw Jarrett Brown continue his recent hot streak at CJ Speedway. Brown started in the last row, quickly worked through the pack and went on to bolster his point [Read More]

Gilman is IMCA Modified winner at Stuart’s Bill Davis Sr. Memorial

By Josh Reynolds  STUART, Iowa (June 22, 2022) – One hundred and five race cars made their way to Karl Chevrolet of Stuart International Speedway for the Bill Davis Sr. Memorial on Wednesday night. Todd VanEaton led the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature until a lap nine caution came out and the field was reset. This let 15-year-old Rowdee Van Genderen take advantage of the restart to get out front and lead the first feature laps of his young career.  Van Genderen led and was pulling away when another caution slowed the field on lap 15. He would stay out front for one more lap, but getting a great drive off of the bottom was Josh Pruitt with Miciah Hidlebaugh in tow. Hidlebaugh made it to Pruitt’s door in turn four but the two kept things clean and it was Pruitt taking the win. Hidlebaugh finished second with Van Genderen third, Ty Hill fourth and Austin Meiners fifth.  Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts were on the track next with Elijah Hoyt leading through lap two.
