Big payout for IMCA Modifieds at Ron Little Memorial

STUART, Iowa – IMCA Modifieds race for $1,500 to win and a spot on the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot at Stuart Speedway’s 20th annual Ron Little Memorial. Top check for the Modifieds is $700 while Mach-1 Sport Compacts run for $500 on Friday, Sept. 21. The big Modified show, plus a $700 to win feature for IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and $500 to win features for IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods, are on the Saturday, Sept. 22 card. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, regional and Iowa State points will be awarded both nights and the event will be broadcast by IMCA.TV. Pit gates will be open all day and the grandstand opens at 5 p.m. both days. Hot laps are at 7 p.m. with racing to follow. IMCA Modifieds headline weekend Septemberfest at Beatrice

BEATRICE, Neb. – IMCA Modifieds run for a top prize of $2,000 at Beatrice Speedway’s Friday and Saturday, Sept. 21 and 22 Septemberfest. The opening night qualifying feature pays $1,000 to win and sends the top four finishers to Saturday’s Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifying main event. Minimum start money is $200 and entry fee is $50 each day. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Jet Racing Central Region and Nebraska State points will be awarded on Saturday. IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods race for $500 to win and Mach-1 Sport Compacts for $200 to win each night. National, regional and state points are at stake in each program. Entry fees each day are $25 for the Stocks, Hobbies and SportMods and $20 for the Sport Compacts. Super Nationals engine auction adds $20,600 to Saturday purse

BOONE, Iowa – Proceeds from the auction of champions’ engines added another $20,600 to the Saturday night purse paid at the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s. Stock Car champion Damon Murty’s engine was claimed by the track for $500 and gaveled at $7,300 so each of the other 29 starters in that event get another $234.48 on top of their purse shares. The power plant that put Jeff Aikey in victory lane sold for $5,000. The other 32 starters in that minimum $1,000 to start race get an additional $156.25. Northern SportMod champion Jake McBirnie saw his engine sell for $4,500. Each of the other 29 drivers in that race receive $155.17 shares. And Hobby Stock champion Shannon Anderson’s engine sold for $3,300, meaning the other 29 starters in get an additional $113.79. MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (Sept. 10) – Marshalltown Speedway wraps up 2018 with one of the top-paying events for IMCA Modifieds of the season. The $10,000 to win World Nationals special is Thursday through Saturday, Sept. 13-15. The 12th annual event is a qualifier for the 2019 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. MCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods race for $1,000 to win while IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks race for $500 to win both Friday, Sept. 14 and Saturday, Sept. 15. JEFFERSON, S.D. – A pair of Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational qualifying features for IMCA Modifieds are on the Sept. 14 and 15 Iron Cup schedule at Park Jefferson Speedway. IMCA Modifieds run for $1,000 to win and $140 to start on Friday in the makeup event for the Sjogrensen Winery bonus. IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars and IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars both race for $600 to win while Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks race for $400 to win and Mach-1 Sport Compacts for $100 to win on opening night of the fifth annual special. Kohl convincing in qualifying feature win

BOONE, Iowa (Sept. 5) – A regular in the main event at the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s will make his career seventh Saturday night start from the front of the outside row. Jason Kohl raced from eighth starting to the lead on just the sixth of 25 laps in winning the qualifying feature postponed from Tuesday. He dueled with Eric Stanton, who exited with a flat tire, before winning in front of Brandon Cox. Rounding out the top eight and also advancing to the outside row were 24th starting Zach Olmstead, 19th starting Tyson Overton, 21st starting Benji Irvine, 28th starting Gary Pesicka, 14th starting Eric Gillette and 20th starting Tathan Burkhart. Borrowed motor, top line take Madden to victory lane

BOONE, Iowa (Sept. 3) – A borrowed motor and the top groove took Corey Madden to the winner’s circle in Monday’s second IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s qualifying feature for Hobby Stocks at Boone Speedway. The eighth starting Madden passed John Watson for the lead with six laps left, earning the front spot in the middle row in the Saturday night main event. Lining up behind him will be the rest of the top eight finishers, Watson, Jeff Ware, 2016 champion Andrew Burg, 14th starting Adam Ayers, 13th starting Andrew Claus, 16th starting Drew Barglof and 26th starting Dawson DeBoer. Vanlaningham earns main event pole start with Hobby Stock qualifier win

BOONE, Iowa (Sept. 3) – Jesse Vanlaningham will start from the pole in Saturday’s Hobby Stock main event at the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s. The Beatrice, Neb., speedster ran in front the last 11 circuits in winning Monday’s first qualifying feature at Boone Speedway, taking advantage when leader Craig Clift and a lapped car made contact after midway in the 25-lapper. Andy Hoffman chased Vanlaningham across the stripe in a fast-paced feature slowed only by a caution on lap three. Four-time and defending champion Shannon Anderson motored from 12th starting to third. The rest of the top eight advancing to the inside row on Saturday were Clift, Brandon Nielsen, James Johnson, Matthew McAtee and Kyle Parizek. Ramey reigns at RaceSaver Nationals

By Greg Soukup EAGLE, Neb. (Sept. 2) – A little precipitation didn’t dampen Kevin Ramey’s night. The Fort Worth, Texas, flyer reigned as champion of the sixth annual RaceSaver Nationals Sunday at Eagle Raceway, earning $2,500 plus a bonus based on his number of sanctioned starts this season. The checkers came after a late restart and ahead of defending race winner Jason Martin. Ramey, the IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car national points leader, had topped Friday’s opening night qualifier and started from the pole. Jake Bubak raced from his mid-pack start to third and Ethan Barrow was fourth. Luke Cranston followed as the top five was represented by drivers from as many different states. A light rain began to fall as cars were pushed out for the main event and continued throughout. Norton, Roath collect $1,000 wins at Canyon’s Shootout special

PEORIA, Ariz. (Sept. 1-2) – Holiday weekend Shootout feature wins at Canyon Speedway Park put Guy Norton and Ryan Roath on the ballot for next year’s Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. Norton scored the $1,000 IMCA Modified checkers Saturday at Canyon while Roath took home the same amount for the Sunday checkers. Norton and Roath tussled on opening night before finishing 1-2. John Parmeley led early before tangling with a lapped car; Chaz Baca borrowed a car from Jeff Stafford Sr. and led to lap 18, when brake issues took him out of contention. Bill Miller rounded out the top three. Parmeley again led early on Saturday while the ninth starting Roath worked his way up to second. Roath gained and then lost the lead to Jay Foster, who broke on the 19th circuit.
