Shannon Pospisil picked up his first win in the division, moving up this season after several years in the Mach-1 Sport Compact class.  Winning this early in the season was ahead of schedule but after starting on the outside of the front row, Pospisil was able to remain among the first three cars of the 16-car field until securing and holding onto the lead with seven laps left.  “It feels great; I wasn’t expecting anything like this until maybe next year,” Pospisil said. “It’s nice to start up front.” Jason Wilkinson won the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature.

Hall of Fame Night checkers fly for Wilinski

By Dave Buss SHAWANO, Wis. (June 1) – Jerry Wilinski was the IMCA Modified winner on Hall of Fame Induction Night at Shawano Speedway.  Wilinski skated by Tim Rothe on the second lap to grab the lead in the Saturday main event. Wilinski checked out from the field until a lap nine caution brought the pack back together.  The yellow flag was the only thing that slowed Wilinski as he again jumped to a dominating lead on the restart. Wyatt Block, Rothe and Konnor Wilinski were left to sort things out for second at the line with Block grabbing the spot followed by Roth and Konnor Wilinski in the top four. Not to be outdone, Dan Michonski got by polesitter Asa Doxtator on lap one of the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature and proceeded to disappear from the pack on his way to a green to checkers win.  A late caution changed everything in the Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod feature as Vince Engebregtsen had a great restart and charged to the lead, capturing the win [Read More]

Martens is final Sprint leader at US 36

By Jacob Blair  OSBORN, Mo. (May 31) – Jake Martens was the third and final leader in the Friday’s IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car feature at US 36 Raceway. Jack Potter took control early and looked to have the fastest car on the track. Late in the race, however, Potter entered a little high in turn three and slid over the berm, bringing out the caution.  Kenny Potter inherited the lead and held it for a few laps before Martens made the pass. Martens got the win and made a trip to Westfall GMC Victory Lane. Potter finished second with Matt Richards third.  Chad Clancy dominated the IMCA Modified feature while Steve Starmer picked up his first IMCA Sunoco Stock Car win of 2019 at US 36 Raceway.  Two weeks ago, Steven Clancy used patience to pick up the Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod feature win. He did the same thing on this night, making a late-race move around Josh Munsen to pick up win number four of the season.
