82 Stock Car drivers now eligible to qualify for B & B Chassis All-Star Invitational

BOONE, Iowa – Abe Huls and Todd Gereau are the newest additions to the list of 82 drivers eligible to qualify for the B & B Chassis All-Star Invitational. Time trial qualifying is Wednesday, Sept. 8 with the inaugural Stock Car invitational to be held Thursday, Sept. 9 during the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s at Boone Speedway. Five drivers from the Northern Region and five drivers from the Southern Region advance from the first round; winners of sanctioned events paying $5,000 or more are guaranteed starting spots so the number of at-large qualifiers from round two that evening is yet to be determined. Drivers winning sanctioned events paying $750 or more held through the first weekend of September become eligible to qualify. 164 IMCA Modified drivers now Fast Shafts All-Star qualifying eligible

BOONE, Iowa – Jordan Hicks, Dylan Smith, Collin Thirlby, Kelsie Foley, Craig Oakes and David Stremme are the most recent winners of IMCA Modified features paying $1,000 or more and are the latest additions to the list of 164 drivers now eligible to qualify for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational. If not already pre-registered for the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s, drivers must complete the early entry process by Friday, Sept. 3 to be eligible for time trial qualifying on Thursday, Sept. 9. $250 Sunoco bonus Saturday night at Junction Motor Speedway

VINTON, Iowa – Extra money is on the line for the potential winner of the main event for IMCA Sunoco Late Models this Saturday at McCool Junction. The next installment of the $250 Sunoco Race Fuels bonus will be paid to the August 28 Late Model winner at Junction Motor Speedway. Sunoco bonuses will be presented at IMCA Late Model sanctioned tracks in 2021. Drivers are eligible for one bonus during the racing season. Winners so far this year have been Matt Ryan at 300 Raceway in Farley, followed by Sean Johnson at Independence Motor Speedway, Andy Eckrich at 34 Raceway in West Burlington, Ron Klein at Dubuque Speedway, Kyle Prauner at U.S. 30 Speedway in Columbus, Chase Osborne at Boone County Raceway in Albion, Brock Carlson at Off Road Speedway in Norfolk, Dave Eckrich at Lee County Speedway in Donnellson, Justin Kay at Davenport Speedway, and most recently Kale Kosiski last Saturday night at Shelby County Speedway in Harlan. Carter banks $5K in Drive For 5 finale for IMCA Modifieds at Lee County Speedway

By Brian Neal DONNELLSON, Iowa (Aug. 20) – Cayden Carter drove to the $5,000 IMCA Modified win at Lee County Speedway’s Friday night Drive For 5 finale. After two rounds of passing point heat races, Steve Picou and Chris Zogg earned the most points to start the 50-lap Hinkle Auto Sales Drive For 5 main event from the front row. Zogg took advantage of his starting spot to jump out into the lead on lap one over Picou and Carter. On lap three, Carter overtook Picou to move into the runner-up spot and then went to work on Zogg for the lead. Action was slowed on laps four and five for spinning cars and Zogg shot to the front on the ensuing restarts with Carter and Picou close behind. Carter made the move into the top spot on lap eight as fifth-place starter Austin Howes moved in to challenge Zogg for second. Cordes, Grady sweep championship night honors at Benton County Speedway

VINTON, Iowa (Aug. 22) – A number of close points battles were finally settled as champions were crowned on the final night of racing for the 2021 season at Benton County Speedway. Troy Cordes and Cristian Grady made the most of the finale by locking up track titles with season championship feature wins on the fast, smooth, multi-grooved, quarter-mile Bullring. Features were lined straight-up based on season point totals, allowing those in contention for track titles to settle things from the front row. And in four of those divisions, margins of four points or fewer separated the top contenders entering the final night. From his pole position start, Cordes quickly made his move to the top side while fellow front row starter and championship contender Dylan Thornton gave chase in the KISS Country 96.5 IMCA Modifieds. Reimers sails to rich Captain of the Creek checkers

FRANCIS CREEK, Wis. (Aug. 19) – Cam Reimers sailed to the $10,000 checkers in the Captain of the Creek feature for IMCA Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods at 141 Speedway. Then he enjoyed some more Wisconsin hospitality, signing autographs and sampling barbeque in the pit area at Francis Creek along with several hundred new friends. The outside front row starter led all 50 laps of the Thursday night main event, keeping Jayden Schmidt in second most of the distance before holding hard charger Elijah Koenig at bay the last four times around the track. After back-to-back cautions on lap nine, Reimers and his closest challengers ran in traffic much of the night as the race stayed green to the checkers. “It’s awesome. Clark aims for Sprint win in sixth state in return to Eagle, RaceSaver Nationals

HAMERSVILLE, Ohio – Justin Clark already owns IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car feature wins in five different states this season. He’s hoping to add a sixth state to that list when he returns to Nebraska’s Eagle Raceway for the RaceSaver Nationals Sept. 2-5. From Hamersville, Ohio, Clark has won 13 times, in his home state and in Indiana, Kentucky, North Carolina and Pennsylvania. With 100 percent chance of rain close to home, he made the 15-hour tow to Nebraska in mid-July and won his heat race before Eagle got washed out as well. “Our goal at the beginning of the year was to race for national points. Morgan breaks through for NY-Penn victory

By Evan Canfield SUSQUEHANNA, Pa. (Aug. 15) – In a season filled with highs and lows, Rodney Morgan finally found some redemption at Penn Can Speedway. After destroying his car in the season opener at the same facility, he was able to come back to the Susquehanna oval and capture his first NY-Penn IMCA Modified Series victory on Sunday, earning $1,000 and Fast Shafts All-Star qualifying eligibility. Aaron Benjamin and J.W. Lamphere set the pace for the 25-lap feature but the start was anything but smooth. A single car spin, a stack-up at the rear of the field and a multi-car pileup set the tone for the opening laps, with three consecutive cautions keeping the race from getting underway.
