Four win Lincoln County IMCA features during fair

By Kelly Ninas NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (July 25) – Colton Osborn, Casey Werkmeister, Denny Egge and Jacob Olmstead were fair night IMCA feature winners at Lincoln County Raceway. Grabbing the lead on lap five and holding off all challengers was Osborn, who was in the lead pack from the onset and never looked back to win the Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modified feature. Charley Brown was the runner-up finisher after moving past third-place finisher David Murray Jr. on the white flag lap. No stranger to the winner’s circle, reigning track champion Werkmeister drove to the lead on the third lap on his way to earning the victory in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars. Frontier Days features two $1,000 to win IMCA Modified races

LOVELOCK, Nev. – Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modifieds will race for $1,000 to win on both nights of Lovelock Speedway’s third annual City Auto Parts/NAPA Know How 40 special this Friday and Saturday, July 31 and Aug. 1. Both Frontier Days events are qualifiers for the 2016 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Larry Shaw Racing Western Region, Allstar Performance State and local track points will be awarded each night. Pit gates open at 4 p.m., hot laps are at 6:30 p.m. and racing starts at 7 p.m. Grandstand admission is $10 for adults, $8 for seniors, military personnel and students ages 11-15, and free for kids 10 and under. A family package (two adults and two children ages 11-15) is $30, with additional children admitted for half price. Pit passes are $25. Modified car and driver is $60. Schrader, Wallace racing at Oklahoma IMCA Night events

LONGDALE, Okla. – Two of the most popular drivers from the NASCAR ranks take green flags at Tuesday and Wednesday, July 28 and 29 IMCA Night specials at Longdale Speedway and Outlaw Motor Speedway in Muskogee. Ken Schrader and Kenny Wallace will join many of the best IMCA drivers from Oklahoma and the region. Both Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modified features pay $1,500 to win, a minimum of $100 to start and are qualifying events for the 2016 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. Ruesink races to first IMCA win at Crystal

CRYSTAL, Mich. (July 25) – Cory Ruesink held off a field of heavy hitters to win his career first AllStar Performance IMCA Modified feature Saturday at Crystal Motor Speedway. Mitchell Hunt, another young driver who recently captured his first feature, was second, followed by John DeYoung, Jr., Chad Wernette, and Myron DeYoung.

Meyer, Mielke both win third Off Road Speedway features of season

(July 25) – Ramsey Meyer and TeJay Mielke both notched their third wins of the season at the Off Road Speedway Saturday in the Mach-1 Sport Compact and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock features, respectively. Meyer led Jake Timm and Shannon Pospisil to the finish line. Mielke then took first in the Hobby Stock feature ahead of Jeremy Hoskinson and Tiffany Bittner. In the Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod feature, Cameron Meyer, Ramsey’s older brother, secured his second-ever win in the division and went to the winner’s circle on the same night as his brother for the first time. “The car was phenomenal; I hadn’t even led a lap here throughout the whole year. 19 states already represented in early entries for Sept. 7-12 Super Nationals

BOONE, Iowa – The 33rd annual version of America’s Racin’ Vacation is already represented by drivers from across the nation. Nearly 200 drivers representing 19 states have already pre-registered for the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s, to be held Monday through Saturday, Sept. 7-12 at Boone Speedway. “We’re just over a month and a half from opening night and the numbers for Super Nationals are very encouraging,” noted IMCA President Brett Root. “We’ve emphasized getting pre-registered and making pit parking arrangements as soon as possible. A lot of drivers have already completed that process and the reserved pit stalls are filling up quickly.” Both registration and pit stall application forms are published in the second section of this month’s newsletter and are also posted on the www.imca.com and www.raceboone.com websites. EAGLE, Neb. – More than 70 drivers from 11 states and Canada have now pre-registered for the Sept. 3-6 IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car Nationals at Eagle Raceway. Features on Friday and Saturday, Sep. 4 and 5 both pay $700 to win and a minimum of $250 to start. The Sunday, Sept. 6 main event pays $2,000 to win and a minimum of $1,000 to start. Saturday’s race of champions pays $1,000 to win and $100 to start. There is no charge for pre-entries made before Sept. 1; Sprint Car drivers receive a free reserved pit stall along with timely early entries. An entry fee of $25 per day applies after Aug. 31. Krone, Pfeifer repeat at Osborne Speedway

By Mike Hughes OSBORNE, Kan. (July 23) – Jake Krone and Colton Pfeifer made return appearances in victory lane at Osborne Speedway on Thursday night, during the Osborne County Fair. Josh Hudson led the opening lap of the Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod feature but was involved in a caution on the following lap. Krone, who won the night before on the ½-mile oval, worked his way to the front by the halfway mark and held on to win the 12-lap main event. Tyler Watts finished second and Hudson third. Rhett Kingsbury led the first six laps of the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock feature before Pfeifer took the lead on the following lap. Pfeifer held on to win his second feature in as many nights. Travis Coop finished second, followed by Kingsbury. Shaylon Holloway pleased the hometown fans as he won the 15-lap IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature. Spectacular run takes Opheim to $2,000 checkers at Kossuth County

ALGONA, Iowa (July 23) – Kevin Opheim was spectacular in winning Thursday’s IMCA Sunoco Stock Car Spectacular at Kossuth County Speedway. Opheim drew the pole and ran at the front of a 30-car field that ran 25 laps green to checkered. “Algona has changed the banking. There’s a good high side and a berm around the bottom. I love running there,” Opheim said following his $2,000 victory, his biggest payday in what is now 125 career wins in the division. “It took a little while to clear the 11 car (outride row one starter Shay Curtin) but when I did that I was able to move up.” Opheim stretched his lead to nearly a straightaway and was two lapped cars ahead of Curtin when he crossed the finish line.
