OSHKOSH, Wis. (July 31) – Brock Saunders parlayed a restart with five laps left to win Friday’s Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod feature at Oshkosh SpeedZone Raceway.
Jason Vandenberg was in front when the only caution of the night came out. The field ran three- and four-wide into the first turn and Saunders emerged from the scrum with the lead. Jon Schultz outran Jeff Schmuhl for second.
Eric Scribner won for the first time at Oshkosh, getting the best of Jerry Wilinski in a back-and-forth Automotive Supply Company IMCA Modified main event that went down to the final circuit.
Following a late caution and five-lap sprint to the finish, Travis Van Straten won his third straight and seventh local Total Power Sales IMCA Stock Car feature of the season by holding off Joe White.
Drivers inducted into the Oshkosh Walk of Fame during intermission ceremonies were Ron Van Roy, Mike Pahlow and Charlie Ewald.
