EAGLE, Neb. (Aug. 1) – Mark Leiting raced all the way from 18th starting to win the NAPA IMCA Northern SportMod main event Saturday at Eagle Raceway.

He’d transferred from the “B” feature and took the lead after a lap eight restart. The win was his fourth this season and second in 2015 at Eagle.

“My guys worked really hard getting me going after getting that axle bent,” he said. “Not transferring out of my heat and having to come through the ‘B’ meant that we had a lot of work to do, but the win makes it all worthwhile.”

Trevor Grossenbacher rocketed from 14th on the initial start to win the RaceSaver IMCA Sprint Car main. Chad Fegley’s second straight Valentino’s IMCA Hobby Stock feature win came from 11th starting.

Shane Hiatt caught long-time leader Kevin Larkins on the final set of turns for the Kaplan University IMCA Modified checkers, his fourth at Eagle this season.

Winner of the time-shortened Sam’s Club IMCA Sport Compact main event was Jeremy Baker.
