
Goedert tops Late Models at Dubuque
By Jerry Mackey DUBUQUE, Iowa (June 19) –The headliner of the Sunday night Fathers’ Day show at Dubuque Speedway was the 25-lap Out-Pace Racing Products IMCA Late Model feature. Luke Goedert advanced from a second row start to take the lead early. While Goedert worked low, Dan Shelliam was riding the high side to pull even. Shelliam took over the point and led for five laps before getting too high in turn two scraping the wall. Goedert went on to lead the rest of the feature for the win while Shelliam recovered to finish second. Bobby Hansen crossed under the checkers in third. The Merfeld Brothers Automotive IMCA Modifieds delighted the fans with plenty of wheel to wheel racing in their 20-lap feature. Tyler Madigan led the majority of the main event before one slight miscue allowed Ryan DeShaw to get inside and take the lead on the white flag lap.
