$1,000 IMCA Empire State Series feature during Fireworks Night at Outlaw Speedway

DUNDEE, N.Y. (June 27) – IMCA Modifieds race for $1,000 to win when the Empire State Series travels to Dundee this Friday to join the Fireworks Night event at Outlaw Speedway. The Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifier pays a minimum of $100 to start and IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Dirt Works Eastern Region, Allstar Performance State and track points will be awarded at the June 30 show. There is no entry fee and the feature will be 30 laps. Pit gates open at 4 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5 p.m. Hot laps are at 6 p.m. and racing starts at 7 p.m. Grandstand admission is $17 for adults, $15 for seniors and free for kids 12 and under. Pit passes are $35. As the name of the event would imply, a fireworks extravaganza follows the race program. The race night is sponsored by the Douglas B. Miles Agency, Inc. Opening night for newly-sanctioned Bronco Motor Speedway is Friday

CLEVELAND, Texas – IMCA Modifieds will have another Friday night home in Texas beginning this weekend at Bronco Motor Speedway. Pit gates open early for out-of-town drivers traveling to the June 30 show at Cleveland. The grandstand opens at 5:30 p.m., hot laps are at 7 p.m. and racing starts at 8 p.m. Bronco is part of IMCA’s Razor Chassis South Central Region. Season championship night is Sept. 22. “There are a lot of IMCA Modified drivers in this area,” said speedway owner Jerry Brown. “They have been asking about sanctioning since I bought the track.” Promoter is Mike Cannon, whose family built the track 20 years ago. “We want to give Modified drivers in the area another Friday night option,” Cannon said. “I can remember when area tracks had full fields of Modifieds. Miller picks up PASS win at Port Royal

PORT ROYAL, Pa. (June 24) – Darren Miller wired the field in the 18-lap Pennsylvania Sprint Series main event for the first win of his career Saturday at Port Royal Speedway. Jeff Miller raced into second early from the sixth starting spot and kept the leader honest the entire distance of the IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car headliner. Only on the final lap, as the pair headed to the checkered flag and Darren Miller got bottled up by traffic was Jeff Miller able to challenge, albeit unsuccessfully. Campos collects Cottage Grove checkers for first Wild West IMCA Modified Shootout victory

(June 26) – John Campos earned $1,000 plus a dose of redemption along with the checkers when the Wild West IMCA Modified Shootout returned to Cottage Grove Speedway Monday night. Campos led the last 16 of 35 laps, running side-by-side with Mark Wauge much of that distance before taking the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifying victory. “We were persistent on the bottom,” said Campos, who had started seventh. “He (Wauge) was right there. We had that late-race caution on lap 29 and checked out a bit from there.” The former super late model driver has found a more economical division in the IMCA Modifieds. Campos has followed the Shootout each of his three seasons in the sanctioned divisions and had posted second- and fourth-place finishes since being disqualified in post-race tech on opening night. Dodge City title chases hit the midway point this Saturday

By Lonnie Wheatley DODGE CITY, Kan. – The state-of-the-art Dodge City Raceway Park will reach the midway point of the 2017 racing season with a full card of championship chase action this Saturday night, July 1. Saturday’s action that fires off at 7:30 p.m. featuring the Precise Racing Products DCRP Sprint Cars along with IMCA Modifieds, IMCA SportMods, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks. Thus far, huge fields of cars have been the norm on nights in which all five featured championship chase divisions have been in action with an average of more than 100 cars per night. Tickets for Saturday’s championship chase action are $15 for adults with children 11 and under admitted free when accompanied by an adult. The 2017 season at Dodge City Raceway Park consists of 14 total nights of scheduled racing action, culminating with the Boot Hill Showdown on Oct. 27-28.

Noteboom notches another Modified win at Park Jeff

JEFFERSON, S.D. (June 24) – Saturday’s SignMasters IMCA Modified division saw Jay Noteboom put another notch in the belt between himself and Ron Luitjens as he picked up win number 52 for his career at Park Jefferson Speedway. Noteboom currently sits second in overall feature wins in all divisions at 68, just five behind Joe Kosiski. Bob Moore had strong run to second and Jason Schneiders turned in a strong third place finish. The IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars were once again a quick an easy win by Colin Smith. Sprint Series of Oklahoma set for Freedom 40 Friday at Red Dirt Raceway

By David Smith Jr. OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – The Sprint Series of Oklahoma is set for a huge night of racing this Friday, June 30 as the IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car tour makes its second appearance at Red Dirt Raceway in Meeker, Okla., and their “Freedom Forty.” Highlighting the program will be a 40-lap championship feature for the SSO with an increased purse from top to bottom and the track will have a huge fireworks display as well. The SSO is coming off a successful two nights of racing action where Texas driver Michael Day earned his first career series victory Friday night in Ardmore while defending champion Andy Shouse scored his third feature victory of the season Saturday night in Ardmore. Johnson, Probst are double winners at Arlington

ARLINGTON, Minn. (June 24) – Make-up features from the previous week were on the card Saturday at Arlington Raceway and Bill Johnson and Cory Probst both made a pair of trips to victory lane as a result. Johnson swept the two 95.7 the Rock IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car features while Probst doubled up in the Premier Logistics IMCA Hobby Stocks. Other feature winners were Clint Hatlestad and Trent Loverude in the MN 93 IMCA Modifieds, Dan Mackenthun and Chad Schroeder in the B & B Racing Chassis IMCA Stock Cars, Jeff Lloyd and Dustin Engelke in the Unhinged Pizza IMCA Northern SportMods and Alex Dostal and Ryan Bryant in the Coors Light IMCA Sport Compacts. Jam the Trailer Night brought in 850-plus pounds of food for the Sibley County Foodshare program. More than 120 cars signed in to compete.

Droste checks out at Britt, collects career first Arnold Motor Supply Hawkeye Dirt Tour checkers

BRITT, Iowa (June 27) – Eleven minutes and some odd seconds was all it took for Tyler Droste to win his career first Arnold Motor Supply Hawkeye Dirt Tour feature, and $3,000. Droste started on the pole of the Tuesday night main event for IMCA Modifieds during Hancock County Speedway’s Salute to Veterans special and led every time around the track in a 30-lapper that ran green to checkers. He was half a straightaway ahead of Joel Rust when he caught up with the back of the 24-car field at midway. Rust cut into Droste’s advantage but the leader mastered lapped traffic and won handily. Rust ended in second while tour point leader Kelly Shryock ran third. Twelfth starting Ricky Thornton Jr. and 11th starting Hunter Marriott completed the top five. Kansas Thunder Series opens this weekend

By Mike Hughes STOCKTON, Kan. – The Kansas Thunder Series half-mile Shootout will kick off its season this Sunday evening, July 2 at Rooks County Speedway in Stockton. There is a total of six races in the series. The 2017 schedule includes: Sunday, July 2 – Rooks County Speedway, Stockton; Wednesday, July 26 – Osborne Speedway, Osborne (fair); Thursday, July 27 – Osborne Speedway, Osborne (fair); Saturday, July 29 – Elmwood Park Speedway, Norton (fair); Thursday, Aug. 17 – Rooks County Speedway, Stockton (fair); Friday, Aug. 18 – Rooks County Speedway, Stockton (fair). Race time each night is 7 p.m. with the pits opening at 4 p.m. All races will be draw-redraw.
