Roth wins third straight at Dawson County

By Kelly Ninas LEXINGTON, Neb. (May 27) – Anthony Roth, Tony Schultz, Mike Nichols and Zach Olmstead earned trips to the winner’s circle on Sunday evening at Dawson County Raceway. Wasting no time to get to the front, Roth got the lead on the second lap and never looked back to capture his third straight IMCA Modified victory at Lexington. Veteran wheelman Schultz regained the lead following a lap 11 restart in winning the Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod main. No stranger to victory lane, Nichols won his third straight IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature from the ninth starting spot. The battle for the lead was heavy and heated in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock feature with Olmstead leading the final eight laps to claim the victory.

Pace races to IMCA RaceSaver Sprint win at Eagle

(May 26) – Mark Pace was scored first every time around the track in winning his first IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car feature Saturday at Eagle Raceway. “We parked it tonight on the front stretch, finally!” he said from victory lane. “I love a dryslick race track like we had tonight. Whenever a track takes rubber I always smell it first and get right into it. It makes you a driver. I also like a heavy track where it’s elbows up, but this kind of track is more technique.” Joey Danley, Toby Chapman and Mike Boston rounded out the top four. Jeff Ware and Shawn Harker both won for the third time in four Valentino’s IMCA Hobby Stock and Purdue University IMCA Northern SportMod outings, respectively. Velasquez rebounds for Dodge City RaceSaver Sprint win

(May 26) – Just one weekend removed from a wild heat race flip, Taylor Velasquez bounced right back to win Saturday’s 25-lap United Rebel Sprint Series vs. Precise Racing Products Sprint Car Clash main event at Dodge City Raceway Park. Velasquez put his IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car out front at the outset from the pole position and capitalized on a lap 20 caution that negated a Jake Martens pass for the lead to secure the win. Given a reprieve, Velasquez burst out to a lead of several car lengths as the race restarted, but Martens closed back in and tried to slip under in the final pair of corners only to fall two car-lengths short at the stripe. “This week has been blood, sweat and tears,” Velasquez explained. “I wasn’t really sure how I’d feel tonight. Stien scores RaceSaver Sprint win at Arlington

ARLINGTON, Minn. (May 26) – Mike Stien won his first feature of the year in the 95.7 the Rock IMCA RaceSaver Sprint feature Saturday at Arlington Raceway. Stien led from start to finish with Bill Johnson taking second and Justin Allen third. Brandon Beckendorf won for the third time in as many MN 93 IMCA Modified starts at Arlington this season, taking the latest checkers after starting ninth. Matt Looft also started deep in the field and motored to a third straight Unhinged Pizza IMCA Northern SportMod victory. Dan Mackenthun prevailed in a battle with Matt Schauer for top B&B Racing Chassis IMCA Stock Car honors. A lap six restart gave Cory Probst the opportunity he was looking for as he drove to the lead and eventual Eckblad Trucking IMCA Hobby Stock checkers. Round 10: Gould survives, advances and wins Dirt Dominator at Devil’s Bowl

By Mike Spieker MESQUITE, Texas (May 29) – William Gould was down to his final strike on two occasions Tuesday night at Devils Bowl Speedway for the 10th round of the IMCA Dirt Dominator. Gould came from behind in three of the four rounds before claiming the $1,000 payday and punching his ticket to the $10,000-to-win Dirt Dominator at Heart O’ Texas Speedway in Waco, Texas on Oct. 25. After defeating John Freeman in the Sweet 16, Gould had his hands full with Chris Elliott in the Elite Eight. Elliott led Gould by three car lengths after the white flag flew on the two and a half lap dash. Gould wasn’t about to coast to the finish, however, as he drove his no. 60 IMCA Modified deep into turns three and four to pull even with Elliott off the corner. Noteboom cashes in at Memorial Clash

JEFFERSON, S.D. (May 26) – Jay Noteboom trumped a stout field of 24 Artworks Graphics IMCA Modifieds to take home the top spot and $1,500 at Park Jefferson Speedway’s Memorial Clash. At the jump, it was Chad Ten Napel jumping out to the early lead followed by Bob Moore and Chris Abelson. Eventually, Abelson wore down Ten Naple to take the point. Noteboom and Moore swapped the runner-up spot with Noteboom utilizing a crossover move to secure the runner-up spot. Abelson, who appeared to have checked out and was possibly counting all $1,500 of the top spot, got loose between turns three and four and jumped the cushion. Neal honors Soldiers and Sailors Night with Maquoketa win

In the lineup chute, they scan every competitor wondering if one will continue the streak. Gage Neal made sure of that Saturday evening. The Ely ace is no stranger to victory lane, but made it to Maquoketa’s for the first time in 2018. He became the fifth different winner in five races on the 3/8-mile dirt oval. Timmy Current took off from the pole and looked as if he would run away with the top prize. He spun while leading and drove pit side. Wilkinsons win two at Off Road

(May 26) – Cameron Wilkinson won his second straight IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock race Saturday at Off Road Speedway, after squeezing through the six cars aligned ahead of him to take the lead within two laps. He remained there during the caution-free 15-lap event to win handily. Jeremy Hoskinson and Gage Koch finished second and third, respectively. Cameron’s father Jason followed suit with a win in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature. Wilkinson went to the front by going low in turn three and four with 11 of 15 laps remaining and cruised to victory ahead of Chad Bruns. Kyle Wilkinson won the duel with Tanner Pettitt for third, edging Pettitt at the finish line by just over a car length. In the Mach-1 Sport Compact feature, Ramsey Meyer remained undefeated at Off Road Speedway this season with his third consecutive victory.

Reed rules at Dacotah Speedway

MANDAN, N.D. (May 25) – Andy Reed became a first-time Mach-1 Sport Compact feature winner in a Friday night barnburner at Dacotah Speedway. An early caution regrouped the grid and pole sitter Seth Howe-Kellar led the field to green. The father-son duo of Stan and Alex Thompson raced side-by-side for the fourth position as they took the green flag. Stan Thompson slid up in front of his son to claim the fourth position as Ken Sandberg had his hands full with Reed for second. While racing door-to-door for second, they started to reel in leader Howe-Kellar. With four laps to go, it was a three-car battle for the win. Reed cleared Sandberg for second and peaked his nose under the machine of Howe-Kellar. They battled for the win with two laps to go.
