MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (April 19) – Tim Ward saw his efforts rewarded with the opening night IMCA Modified feature win Friday at Marshalltown Speedway. 

Troy Cordes led the troops when lap one was scored, with Jimmy Gustin hot on his tail and Ward closing the gap quickly as well.

Ward made his way into the lead at lap six, kept it and pulled away in the closing laps to take the comfortable win. Gustin followed from a distance in second, and Cayden Carter came from start­ing 10th to score third place honors. 

Steve Meyer got the lead back from Jeff Mueller, then held off Ricky Thornton Jr. for the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car checkers.

The IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock feature went to Shannon Anderson, who knows victory lane very well at Marshalltown and beyond. Anderson started eighth and snatched the lead on lap six from Mike Kincaid. David Rieks started seventh and chased Anderson much of the distance to finish in se­cond. 

Jake McBirnie took home the trophy in the Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod feature.  McBirnie, who started sixth, passed Austin Schrage to be scored first at lap five.  McBirnie then put distance be­tween himself and the field to take the comfortable win.

$10,000 is top IMCA Modified prize at Marshalltown’s World Nationals

MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa – World Nationals wraps up the season at Marshalltown Speedway Sept. 12-14, with the IMCA Modified winner going home with a hefty $10,000. IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Karl Kustoms North­ern SportMods both race for $1,000 to win, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks for $500 to win during Friday and Sat­urday, Sept. 13 and 14 programs. Saturday’s Modified feature is a qualifying event for the 2020 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, regional and E3 Spark plugs State points will be awarded.  Pit gates open at 4 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5 p.m. Racing starts at 7 p.m. both nights. Friday spectator admission is $15 for adults and $12 for seniors. On Saturday, admission is $20 for adults and $15 for seniors. Rust, Thornton hustle to $1,000 High Banks wins

MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (April 26-27) – Joel Rust hustled his way to the $1,000 checkers Thursday night at Marshalltown Speedway. Ricky Thornton Jr. did the same on Friday. Rust and Thornton were IMCA Modified winners at Marshalltown’s season-opening Twin High Banks Hustle. While Thornton was already on the ballot, Rust’s victory made him vote eligible for the upcoming Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational. After drawing the outside pole, Rust had to hold off Hunter Marriott late in the contest. Ninth starting Tyler Droste, Tim Ward and Ethan Dotson completed the top five. Thornton went from last on Thursday to first in the Friday feature, leading every lap and winning ahead of Marriott, Cayden Carter, Kyle Brown and Richie Gustin. Damon Murty swept IMCA Sunoco Stock Car action, catching Jay Schmidt for the lead just before midway on opening night and then taking charge just after halfway and then checking out on night two. Five IMCA divisions head to High Banks for Showdown at MoTown

MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa – Drivers in five IMCA divisions battle it out on the High Banks of Mar­shalltown Speedway, at the Sept. 4 Showdown at MoTown.  IMCA Modifieds chase a $1,000 top check in their 2021 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot quali­fier. IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods both race for $500 to win, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Mach-1 Sport Compacts – the 4-cylinder class is new to the card – both for $300 to win.  There is no entry fee and pit passes are $30. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, regional and KMJ Performance State points will be awarded. Pit gates open at 5:15 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5:30 p.m. Hot laps are at 6:55 p.m. with racing to follow.
