Marshalltown World Nationals features four IMCA divisions Sept. 17-18

By Joyce Eisele MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (July 16) – Marshalltown Speedway held its regular weekly racing program on Friday night, along with the Central Iowa Fair.  Two drivers kept their winning streaks going as Kaden Reynolds rolled to another win in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock division, as did Dillon Raffurty in the IMCA STARS Mod Lites. Dallon Murty took home the $1,000 IMCA Sunoco Stock Car special, Jenae Gustin found her way to victory lane in the Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods, Tom Berry claimed the win in the IMCA Modifieds and the Mach-1 Sport Compacts joined the regular classes with Adam Gates taking that victory. Last year’s track champion and defending IMCA national champion Berry made his presence known once again at the High Banks, as he piloted his new ride to victory. By Joyce Eisele  MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (Aug. 2) – Two drivers earned their first local victories of the year in the IMCA Modified and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod divisions, while the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks saw repeat winners Friday at Marshalltown Speedway. The 20-lap IMCA Modified feature was up for grabs between three drivers. Tim Ward hustled from 10th starting to the lead by lap seven, only to have Joel Rust and Ronn Laurtizen tag in behind. Rust got the upper hand with six laps left but it was still anyone’s race between Rust, Lauritzen, and Ward as the laps wound down. Lauritzen gained the lead on lap 18 only to have Rust regain it on the white flag lap, but the race the checkers found Lauritzen surging ahead to cross the finish line first.  Rust was the runner-up followed closely by Ward in third. MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (April 29, 2022) – Four IMCA divisions are on the Thursday night card for the fifth annual Dale DeFrance Memorial at Karl Auto Group Marshalltown Speedway.  Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds run for $1,000 to win along with Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational qualifying eligibility in their May 5 feature.  IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods both run for $500 to win, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks for a $300 top check.  Feature winners receive certificates from Performance Bodies and a case of oil. Hard luck drivers get certificates for drive shafts courtesy of Fast Shafts.
