
Three IMCA national rookies of the year earn Friesen Performance crate engines
SUTTON, Neb. – National rookies of the year in three IMCA divisions will receive crate engines from Friesen Performance to show for their on-track efforts again this season. The Sutton, Neb., dealership and sixth-year IMCA sponsor gives a 604 crate engine to the national Modified rookie of the year. Both Hobby Stock and Northern SportMod rookies of the year get 602 crate engines. Engine awards will be presented during the IMCA national banquet in November. Rookie drivers in all three divisions are required to display two Friesen Performance decals on their race car to be eligible. 2018 crate engine recipients were Jeffrey Abbey, Modified; Adam Ayers, Hobby Stock; and Brandon Setser, Northern SportMod. Friesen also gives a 602 crate to a non-qualifying Hobby Stock or Northern SportMod driver during the upcoming IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s at Boone Speedway Sept. 2-7.
