Night one of Yankee Dirt Track Classic falls to rain

FARLEY, Iowa – Friday’s opening night Yankee Dirt Track Classic show at 300 Raceway has been rained out. Saturday, Sept. 4, will be run as a one-day show. IMCA Modifieds race for $5,000 to win, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods both for $1,500. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Side Biter Chassis North Central Region and EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region, and KMJ Performance State points will be awarded. Pit gates open at 3 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 4 p.m. Hot laps are at 6:30 p.m. and racing starts at 7 p.m. More information about the Yankee, presented by GTG Peterbilt, is available by calling 563 744-3620.

Rain is Friday winner at Marshalltown

MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa – After rain this morning (Friday), the Showdown at Motown has been canceled. Next on the schedule at Marshalltown Speedway is the Sept. 16-18 World Nationals, featuring IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods.

By Frank Buhrman YORK HAVEN, Pa. (Aug. 29) – George Riden had been trying to get his IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car out to the track more often. It paid off Sunday night, when the Elizabethtown veteran won his first Pennsylvania Sprint Series race in nine years, taking the 20-lap feature at BAPS Motor Speedway. Riden drew the outside pole and took the lead from polesitter Drew Young on lap three. He then fought off a ferocious challenge from Dom Melair, whose efforts to go past the leader fell just short. “Work has gotten pretty busy,” Riden said in victory lane. “Racing had to be put on the backburner but these guys over here have been working their butts off and we finally found some speed. Record 900 – and counting! – pre-entries for Super Nationals

BOONE, Iowa (Sept. 2) – The 2021 IMCA Speedway Motor Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s is an event for the record book. Again. For the first time in its 39-year history, Super Nationals has topped 900 pre-entries as drivers from 27 states and Canada will be part of the biggest dirt track racing event on the planet Sept. 6-11 at Boone Speedway. Modified competitor Tony Hilgenberg of Waukee became the 900th driver to complete early registration for America’s Racin’ Vacation shortly after 2 p.m. today. The previous mark of 878 early entries was set last year. By division, 2021 entries include 228 Modifieds, 215 Stock Cars, 178 Northern SportMods, 136 Hobby Stocks, 81 Sport Compacts and 52 STARS Mod Lites. FARLEY, Iowa – Three IMCA divisions are on the ticket both nights of the 44th annual Yankee Dirt Track Classic at 300 Raceway. On Friday, Sept. 3, IMCA Modifieds race for $2,000 to win while IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods both run for $750 top checks. And on Saturday, Sept. 4, Modifieds race for $5,000 to win, the Stocks and SportMods both for $1,500. EAGLE, Neb. – IMCA Sprint Car teams from across the country and from up the road are already arriving at Eagle Raceway for the Sept. 2-5 RaceSaver Nationals powered by Sunbelt Rentals. “We’ve got all sorts of stuff going on,” Promoter Roger Hadan said this morning. “We’ve already got cars here from North Carolina and Virginia, and we’ve got a car rolling through tech now that’s from a mile up the road. Stremme scores historic NY-Penn IMCA Bloomsburg Fair victory

(Aug. 29) – The NY-Penn IMCA Modified Series made its first trip to the historic Bloomsburg Fair Raceway on Sunday night, marking the first time the division turned laps at the Pennsylvania oval for the sixth race of the 2021 season With four different winners in the first five races, coming to a new venue would be anything but predictable. One thing that nobody predicted was seeing hotshoe David Stremme of Mifflintown try his hand at trying to claim the $1,000 payday. At the conclusion of the night, he would make the trip worthwhile, earning both the grand and Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational qualifying eligibility. IMCA Modifieds run for $1,000 to win along with Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational qualifying eligibility. IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods both run for $500 to win, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods both for $300 to win and IMCA STARS Mod Lites for $250 to win. IMCA.TV Fantasy Challenge at Super Nationals

BOONE, Iowa – The IMCA.TV Fantasy Racing Challenge will crown its own nightly winners and an overall champion at the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s at Boone Speedway in Boone, Iowa, Sept. 6-11. To be eligible for prizes in the IMCA.TV Fantasy Challenge, fans will need to make their picks in each division running each night of America’s Racin’ Vacation on the MyRacePass app. They’ll accumulate points based on how the drivers they pick fare in each race they’re in each night. Promoters Mooney and Connie Starr celebrate the Arkansas track’s golden season with a pair of $50,000 to win specials, the fifth annual Race for Hope 71 for IMCA Modifieds Sept. 22-25 and the World IMCA Stock Car Championships presented by IMCA.TV Oct. 13-16.
