QuickCar Racing Products gives awards to national champions in all IMCA divisions

LEBANON, Tenn. – QuickCar Racing Products returns as an IMCA sponsor this season, with new awards for national champions in all sanctioned divisions. Recipients of QuickCar-manufactured 3-gauge panels include top drivers in national standings for IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods and Scoggin-Dickey Parts Center Southern SportMods. The Late Model national champion earns a 4-gauge panel set. Both the IMCA Eagle Motorsports Sprint Car and Mach-1 Sport Compact national champions receive 2-gauge panel sets. “We’re happy to be on board with IMCA again,” said QuickCar General Manager Danny Knowles. “We’ve been growing by leaps and bounds. We’ve got new dealers, we’re expanding into new markets and have a more diverse product line.” The Lebanon, Tenn., manufacturer had given awards to IMCA special series champions following the 2011 and 2012 seasons. EQ, Sweet, MSD take new places in IMCA decal program

VINTON, Iowa – Three marketing partners already very familiar to drivers in all sanctioned divisions have new roles in IMCA’s national decal program this season. EngineQuest becomes title sponsor of both Northern and Southern regions for IMCA Stock Cars. Sweet Manufacturing joins the national program for Modifieds while MSD is new for the Stock Car national program. Karl Chevrolet and Scoggin-Dickey Parts Center return as title sponsor of Northern SportMod and Southern SportMod divisions; this season will be the second when drivers in both divisions are required to display Karl and SDPC decals on their race cars. Four IMCA divisions featured at Abilene’s Feb. 20-22 Ice Breaker

ABILENE, Texas – Four IMCA divisions start the 2015 season with the traditional Ice Breaker special at Abilene Speedway Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 20-22. IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds run for $700 to win each night, Scoggin-Dickey Parts Center Southern SportMods for $600, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars for $400 and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks for $250. All applicable IMCA points, including track points, will be awarded for each draw/redraw show. Home region points will be awarded to Modified, Stock and Hobby drivers; Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods can race but not for points. Smith returns to winning ways at Cocopah with IMCA Modified career victory no. 98

SOMERTON, Ariz. (Feb. 13-14) – A week after uncharacteristic Winter Nationals finishes, Dylan Smith got back in his groove at Cocopah Speedway. Smith outran R.C. Whitwell for the $3,000 IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modified checkers in the fourth and final Winter Nationals show Saturday at Somerton. The front pair had run door-to-door in the final turn before Smith pulled ahead of Whitwell, the $1,000 Friday night winner. Sixty Modifieds vied on opening night, 57 in the finale. Smith’s victory landed the fleet Nebraskan on the ballot for September’s Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational and was his IMCA career 98th win. Four of those earlier victories came in as many Winter Nationals events last February. Rose, family take reins at Grayson County Speedway

BELLS, Texas – The new promoter at the race track in Texas with the longest IMCA tenure is a former driver, a car owner and something of a history buff, too. Frank Rose and his family take charge this season at Grayson County Speedway. Both IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds and Scoggin-Dickey Parts Center Southern SportMods are on Saturday programs beginning March 28. “The 41-year history of this track is one of the things that interested me in promoting Grayson County,” said Rose. “We want to give some new life to this track and add to that history.” Rose raced for 18 seasons in the street stock and then modified divisions. His daughter Merisa was the mini-stock champion at Bells in 2013. Grayson County became the first track in Texas to sanction its Modified division with IMCA in 1985. IMCA Modifieds return to Tri-State; Stocks, SportMods new this season at Pocola

POCOLA, Okla. – IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds make a long-awaited return this season to Oklahoma’s Tri-State Speedway. The division will be joined by IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and IMCA SportMods on Saturday shows at the Pocola venue, now owned and promoted by Carey Menasco. “I’m a fan of IMCA and when my wife Nicole and I purchased this track we converted it back to that sanction,” said Menasco, formerly the promoter at Outlaw Motorsports Park. “There’s already been a lot of interest in what we’ve been doing out here. Scoggin-Dickey Parts Center renews title sponsorship of IMCA Southern SportMods

LUBBOCK, Texas – The 2015 season is the third for Scoggin-Dickey Parts Center as title sponsor of IMCA’s Southern SportMod division. Whitwell, Marriott rule IMCA Modifieds at Winter Nationals

SOMERTON, Ariz. (Feb. 6-7) – R.C. Whitwell and Hunter Marriott proved the fastest in big IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modified fields at Cocopah Speedway’s Winter Nationals opening weekend. Whitwell raced from 12th starting to win Friday’s main event, which drew 65 entries. Marriott scored the Saturday checkers, which had 54 entries. Both Modified features paid $1,000 to win; Marriott was already on the ballot for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational. In all, drivers from 18 states and Canada vied at the fourth annual event. Manny Baldiviez and Andrew Altenburg were IMCA Sunoco Stock Car winners, Scott Shaw and Leonard Manos topped IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock mains and Timmy Reese and Sean Callens topped Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod features.
