South Dakota events still on, without grandstand spectators

JEFFERSON, S.D. – Both Saturday’s Open Wheel Nationals at Park Jefferson Speedway and Sunday’s event at The New Raceway Park will still be held as scheduled, but without spectators in grandstands at either facility. No IMCA points of any kind will be given at either event. The Saturday show features IMCA Modifieds and will be broadcast by Speed Shift TV. IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Car, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks, Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods and Mach-1 Sport Compacts are on the Sunday card, to be broadcast by Advantage Racing TV. Advance ticket holders for the Open Wheel Nationals will be notified by email about refunds. Information about grandstand refunds for the Sunday event is to be announced.

New Raceway Park following guideline list for Sunday show

JEFFERSON, S.D. – The first event of the 2020 season is Sunday at The New Raceway Park, with numerous precautions in place for drivers and spectators alike. Five IMCA divisions are on the April 26 card at Jefferson. Promoter Steve Kiraly said a list of guidelines would be followed to ensure safe distancing in the pits and grandstand alike. Hand sanitizer stations will be in place around the track and everyone must wear masks at all locations. “We are taking this very seriously. We want to make an impression on the country on how we’re able to race and stay within health guidelines,” he emphasized. Everyone attending will have their temperature taken and anyone with a temperature of 101.1 or above will not be allowed in the facility. IMCA Modifieds to be part of April 25 Open Wheel Nationals at Park Jefferson

IMCA Dirt Knights Tour partners with Speed Shift TV

AVON, Ind. – The 11th annual IMCA Dirt Knights Tour for IMCA Modifieds will welcome Speed Shift TV as its title sponsor and official broadcast partner for the 2020 campaign. The Dirt Knights Tour features a 10-race schedule. IMCA settles federal trademark lawsuit against Brzezinski Racing Products

VINTON, Iowa – More than two years after catching and confirming Brzezinski Racing Products placing the IMCA trademark on non-approved cylinder heads and engaging in impermissible modifications to IMCA approved EQ cylinder heads, IMCA has settled its federal trademark lawsuit against Brzezinski Racing Products and its owner, Randall Brzezinski. As a result, balance and fairness has been restored through IMCA’s continued vigilance in monitoring and enforcing IMCA’s divisional rules. The Federal lawsuit was filed in November of 2018, and a State lawsuit suit was filed in August of 2019 in Benton County, Iowa, resulting from the discovery by IMCA of undercover porting work and unauthorized usage of the IMCA trademark on engine cylinder heads not authorized under IMCA’s rules. Under the terms of the settlement, Brzezinski Racing Products, based in Pewaukee, Wis., and Randall Brzezinski, agreed to cease performing any and all “undercover porting” work on EQ 350I engine heads sold to or serviced for IMCA participants, and certified that no such future work will be performed. IMCA response to COVID-19 outbreak

Carroll collects $1,000 Fast Shafts All-Star win at I-37

Hallas PLEASANTON, Texas (March 7) – Chris Carroll took home the $1,000 win in the IMCA Modified 20-lapper, getting the best of some stiff competition and putting his name on the Fast Shafts all-Star Invitational ballot Saturday at I-37 Speedway. The opening night checkers came ahead of Cody Tidwell and Nebraska visitor Chad Andersen. Carroll made his drive from the third row, running down Andersen for the lead with the two side by side on lap eight and Carroll getting the top spot a lap later. Tidwell moved into second just after midway while Jared Maupin caught Dillon Tindall for fourth. While Carroll inched ahead, Andersen pressured Tidwell for second and Rick Green and Tindall scrapped for fifth. Junior National Championship contenders should contact IMCA for 2020 licenses, minor release form

Kupper continues IMCA Dakota Classic Tour sponsorship with new name

MANDAN, N.D. – Bob Kupper has sold his Chevrolet dealership but don’t think he’s not involved in the IMCA Dakota Classic Tour title Sponsorship. It’s now the Moritz Sport & Marine Dakota Classic Modified Tour powered by Bismarck Motor Company and it’s bigger than ever! During the awards ceremony last July in Mandan, Kupper made a statement that got a lot of press in the racing world.
