IMCA Modified Madness at Davenport pays $2,000 to win 

DAVENPORT, Iowa – A top prize of $2,000 and a berth on the ballot for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational are at stake Friday, May 19 at Davenport Speedway’s IMCA Modified Madness 50 special. The main event pays a minimum of $100 to start. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Side Biter Chassis North Central Region and Allstar Performance State points, but no track points will be awarded. There is a $50 entry fee. Pit gates open at 4:30 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5 p.m. Hot laps are at 6:15 p.m. with racing to follow. Spectator admission is $15 for adults, $13 for seniors and students, and free for kids ages 12 and under. Pit passes are $30. IMCA Late Models and Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods are also on the Friday program, racing for all points. Canyon ready to roll for kids’ bike giveaway night 

By Rowdy Briggs PEORIA, Ariz. – After a small break in action, Canyon Speedway Park fires back up on Saturday, May 20 with the Kids’ Bike Giveaway Night. IMCA Modifieds will be returning to the speedway along with the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks. Chaz Baca Jr. has dominated the IMCA Modified class at Canyon in 2017. In the six point races, Baca has picked up four wins and finished second in the other two feature events. Guy Norton and John Parmeley claimed the other feature wins this season. George Fronsman has owned the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car season as he leads the way in the point standings. The IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks have put on some fantastic races this season and Merle Zachrison continues to lead the standings, although he has yet to claim a main event. IMCA Modifieds, Northern SportMods return to LaSalle for May 18 Spring Shootout

LaSALLE, Ill. – IMCA Modifieds and Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods return to LaSalle Speedway for the Thursday, May 18 Spring Shootout presented by Hoker Trucking. The Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot-qualifying feature for Modifieds pays $1,000 to win and a minimum of $125 to start. Northern SportMods run for $600 to win and $100 to start. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National and Allstar Performance State points will be given in both divisions. Side Biter Chassis North Central Region points will also be awarded to Modifieds. Sprint Series of Oklahoma makes first visit to Elk City Speedway on Saturday 

By David Smith Jr. OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – The Sprint Series of Oklahoma presented by Smiley’s Racing Prod­ucts will venture into uncharted territory this coming Saturday night as it makes the first of two appearances of the season at Elk City Speedway in Elk City. The western Oklahoma track will be the sixth different venue for the second-year IMCA Rac­eSaver Sprint Car series that has also seen different winners in the last six races held dating back to last season. Touring regulars expected to compete include Joe Wood Jr., Chad Koch and Andy Shouse, all drivers who have reached victory lane thus far this season. EAST MOLINE, Ill. (May 9) – A Mother’s Day show at Quad City Speedway is next on the schedule for the Deery Brothers Summer Series. Touring IMCA Late Models race for $2,000 to win and a minimum $300 to start their Sunday, May 14 main event at East Moline. Tour rookie Jake Neal of Omaha, Neb., leads the point standings heading into the sixth series event of the season. Kupper Chevrolet Dakota Classic Tour ups Modified winner’s shares to $2,300

JAMESTOWN, N.D. – Feature winners on all six nights of the biggest series for IMCA Modifieds will get bigger checks. Kupper Chevrolet Dakota Classic Tour main events will pay $2,300, a minimum of $300 to start, and are qualifying events for the upcoming Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. Opening night for the North Dakota-based tour is Saturday, July 8 at Jamestown Speedway. Koch leads Sprint Series of Oklahoma to Wichita Speedway

By David Smith Jr. OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – After two consecutive rainouts, the Sprint Series of Oklahoma IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car Series presented by Smiley’s Racing Products make its first appearance of the season at Wichita Speedway in Wichita Falls, Texas Friday night. The April 28 event is part of the track’s “Sprint Spring Fling.” Local resident and current series point leader Chad Koch looks to add a second victory to his resume as he leads a talent-laden field of veteran and rookies to the quarter-mile clay oval. Grandstand admission is $15 for adults, $12 for seniors, military police and fire personnel, and $10 for kids ages 6-10. The drivers’ meeting is at 6 p.m. and racing starts at 8 p.m.

URSS Kansas Region opener Saturday at RPM Speedway

HAYS, Kan. – The 2017 United Rebel Sprint Series Kansas Region Championship will kick off this Saturday at RPM Speedway in Hays. The lightning fast 3/8’s mile high banks have seen some of the best battles for wins in the 12-year his­tory of the series and last year Luke Cranston took the first race win en route to the Kansas Regional Crown. Brian Herbert swept the Wheatshocker Nationals and the Rocky Mountain Grill to mark off the race from his bucket list of career accomplishments. Six dates announced for IMCA Empire State Series

CENTER LISLE, N.Y – Six race dates are on the initial schedule for the 2017 Empire State Series for IMCA Modifieds. Thunder Mountain Speedway hosts the opening night show during the Memorial Weekend on May 27. Night two is June 23 at Glen Ridge Motorsports Park. The tour returns to Thunder Mountain on July 15 and then travels to Fonda Speedway on Aug. 2. Glen Ridge is site of the Aug. 25 show. The 16th annual tour concludes Sept. 23 at Outlaw Speedway. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Dirt Works Eastern Region and Allstar Performance State points will be awarded at each event.
