Boone’s Cinco de Mayo pays IMCA Modified winner $1,000

BOONE, Iowa – Boone Speedway celebrates Cinco de Mayo on Saturday, May 5 with more money on the line for IMCA Modified drivers. Five hundred dollars goes to the winners of qualifiers that determine starting positions on inside and outside of the main event; the feature winner earns $1,000, a berth on the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational and a provisional start in the September Prelude to the Super Nationals. A $500 bonus will also be paid to the fifth place starter if they can win that race. Also on the card are IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods. April 27, 28 Spring Roundup starts season at Electric City

GREAT FALLS, Mont. – A pair of $500 to win IMCA Modified features are on season-opening Spring Roundup programs Friday and Saturday, April 27 and 28 at Electric City Speedway. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Larry Shaw Race Cars Western Region, Montana State and track points will be awarded both nights. Pit gates at Great Falls are open all day; the grandstand opens at 6 p.m. and racing starts at 7:30 p.m. both evenings. There is no entry fee and pit passes are $30. Spectator admission is $11 for adults, $8 for seniors 65 and over and students ages 12-17, and free for 11 and under. Adult tickets are $9 when purchased online. IMCA Modifieds return to Sycamore Speedway in Illinois this weekend 

MAPLE PARK, Ill. – A berth on the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot is at stake when IMCA Modifieds return to Sycamore Speedway for a Saturday, April 28 show. The main event at the 3/8-mile clay oval at Maple Park, Ill., pays $1,200 to win and a minimum of $150 to start with up to 15 entries; the winner earns $1,500 if there are more than 16 entries. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Side Biter Chassis North Central Region and Illinois State points will be awarded. There is no entry fee and pit passes are $30. Jackson Motorplex postpones IMCA Frostbuster to May 5

By Shawn Miller JACKSON, Minn. – Jackson Motorplex officials have postponed the IMCA Frostbuster one week because of the recent snow accumulation as well as an impending snow storm later this week.  The marquee season-opening event during Bank Midwest Night presents the Double Down Showdown will now be contested on Saturday, May 5. IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods and Mach-1 Sport Compacts are on the card to compete with a unique opportunity for all divisions. The winner’s payout in the respective main events will be doubled if 24 or more cars show up in a given class. Cedar County Raceway rolls out red carpet for Deery Series opener

TIPTON, Iowa – With a much more promising forecast in store, Cedar County Raceway rolls out the red carpet for opening night of the Deery Brothers Summer Series this Saturday, April 21. Sunset ignites the engines this Saturday

By Ben Deatherage BANKS, Ore. – The 2018 racing season will officially start this Saturday, April 14 at Sunset Speedway Park. IMCA Modifieds will challenge at Banks Bullring for IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Larry Shaw Race Cars Western Region, Oregon State and track points. Pit gates open at 2 p.m. and the front gate opens at 4 p.m. Racing is at 6:30 p.m. Race Director Justin Thomas says there are only a couple of differences from last year but for the most part everything will remain the same. “Mike Watson will be back in the flagstand this year,” commented Thomas. “I will be up in the tower help running the RACEceivers. At practice we had a great turnout and the track was beautiful, which I think is a good sign for the season to come.” Tickets are $13 for adults and $10 for seniors, military and juniors ages 13-17. Dodge City opens with April 21 Modified Stampede 

By Lonnie Wheatley DODGE CITY, Kan. – After a pair of foiled attempts to get the 2018 racing season underway, Dodge City Raceway Park will kick things off in style with the sixth annual Modified Stampede on Saturday night, April 21. While the IMCA Modifieds battle it out for the $750 winner’s share atop the 3/8-mile clay oval, the Precise Racing Products DCRP Sprint Cars, IMCA SportMods, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks will be in action as well. The event marks the first leg of championship points chase action with the green flag set to fly at 7:30 p.m. Cole Traugott is the reigning Modified Stampede champion, racing to his second consecutive event win last year ahead of defending track champion Clay Sellard and Randy Wilson.
