Boone’s Cinco de Mayo pays IMCA Modified winner $1,000

BOONE, Iowa – Boone Speedway celebrates Cinco de Mayo on Saturday, May 5 with more money on the line for IMCA Modified drivers.

Five hundred dollars goes to the winners of qualifiers that determine starting positions on inside and outside of the main event; the feature winner earns $1,000, a berth on the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational and a provisional start in the September Prelude to the Super Nationals.

A $500 bonus will also be paid to the fifth place starter if they can win that race.

Also on the card are IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods. The Hobby Stock feature pays $500 to the winner.

There is no entry fee. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, regional, Iowa State and track points will be awarded.

Grandstand admission is $15 for adults, $5 for youth and free for ages 12 and under. Pit passes are $25.

Pit gates open at 5:30 p.m. and the front gates open at 6 p.m. Hot laps are at 6:45 p.m. with racing at 7:30 p.m.

$34,000 from engine auction added to purse shares at IMCA Super Nationals

BOONE, Iowa (September 20, 2023) – The auction champions’ engines added another $34,000 to the Saturday night purse paid at the 41st annual IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s. Engines that powered championship-winning rides of Dylan Thornton in the Stock Cars and Mike Smith both gaveled at $10,000, adding $344.83 to the take home pay for the main event qualifiers in both divisions. Jake Sachau’s Northern SportMod title-winning engine saw a $7,100 top bid, adding $244.83 to purse shares for the other drivers in that event. And the engine that Tim Ward won both the Double Down Prelude and the Modified main event sold for $6,900, generating another $215.63 for each of his Saturday night competitors. Smith too tough in Class Too Tough Too Tame at Boone

By Joyce Eisele BOONE, Iowa (June 26) – David Smith was too tough to catch in The Class Too Tough To Tame Saturday night at Boone Speedway. The IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars rolled out for their 20-lap feature and polesitter Mike House was the early race leader, holding on until halfway when the 14th starting Smith took over. A couple of late race cautions were no bother to Smith as he kept his lead to the checkers and sealed the win. Brother Donavon Smith started 10th and took second and Mathew West was third. Bryan Zehm led all 15 laps of the IMCA STARS Mod Lite race. It was an epic battle behind him however, as Josh May, Randy Bryan, and Mike Kennedy duked it out. Following the leader across the line at the checkers, it was May in the runner-up spot and Kennedy took third. Mission Accomplished: Laney is IMCA Modified champion at Super Nationals

BOONE, Iowa (Sept. 11) – Cody Laney can remember when going to watch the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s was pretty cool. Winning the Saturday night main event at America’s Racin’ Vacation was even cooler.  The Torrance, Calif., driver led all 40 laps in the final race of the 39th annual Super Nationals, earning $7,000 and racing immortality. “Two years ago I ran third. Last year I was second and people were telling me I was going to win it, but you never know because this is racing.
