Kay keen on collecting record fifth straight Deery win on Memorial Day at Boone

BOONE, Iowa – Justin Kay runs for a Deery Brothers Summer Series record fifth straight feature win when the IMCA Late Model tour makes its traditional Memorial Day visit to Boone Speedway. Kay already owns four consecutive Deery victories and looks to become the first driver in the tour’s 32-year history to win five in a row next Monday, May 28. Kay won the 2017 series finale and followed with checkers at Cedar County Raceway, Maquoketa Speedway and Quad City Speedway in the first three events of 2018. IMCA Modifieds chase $1,200 Santa Maria Nationals checks

SANTA MARIA, Calif. – IMCA Modifieds run for $1,200 to win and Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational bal­lot nods both nights of Santa Maria Raceway’s Saturday and Sunday, May 26 and 27 Na­tion­als. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Larry Shaw Race Cars Western Region, Califor­nia State and track points will be awarded each night. Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods race for $1,000 to win, plus national, state and track points on Sunday. The Modifieds typically have one of the biggest entry numbers for the Nationals and 35-40 cars are expected to be on hand for the upcoming Memorial Weekend event. Memorial Day opener for Arnold Motor Supply Dirt Knights Tour

VINTON, Iowa – A familiar tour for IMCA Modifieds totes higher payouts at each of its eight race dates and a bigger point fund when the 2018 season is complete. The Arnold Motor Supply Dirt Knights Tour opens on Monday, May 28 at Benton County Speed­way. Saturday date for IMCA Modifieds at Skyline

CORTLAND, N.Y. – IMCA Modifieds are on the card this Saturday, May 19 at Skyline Raceway Park. There is no entry fee and IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Dirt Works Eastern Region and New York State points are at stake. The pit gate and grandstand both open at 4 p.m. Hot laps are at approximately 6 p.m. with racing to follow. Pit passes are $30. Spectator admission is $11 for adults, $9 for students ages 10-14 and seniors 65 and over, and free for kids nine and under. More information is available by calling 607 745-0275. DAVENPORT, Iowa – IMCA Modifieds chase a top check of $2,000 along with a berth on the ballot for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational at Davenport Speedway’s Friday, May 18 Modified Madness 50 special. The main event pays a minimum of $100 to start. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Side Biter Chassis North Central Region and Iowa State points, but no track points will be awarded. Modifieds are draw/redraw. There is a $50 entry fee. Pit gates open at 4:30 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5 p.m. Hot laps are at 5:45 p.m. with racing to follow. IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars headline Saturday show at Phillips County

HOLYOKE, Colo. – Contrary to other reports, IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars will race Saturday, May 12 at Phillips County Raceway in Holyoke. All series, state and IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National points will be awarded. The previous reported June 2 rainout date was incorrect. RaceSaver Sprints will race for $1,000 to win and a minimum of $200 to start and no license other than IMCA RaceSaver is required to compete in the Sprint Series of Colorado kickoff. Other sanctioned divisions at Holyoke will be the IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods and Mach-1 Sport Compacts. Admission is $15 for adults, $10 for seniors 65 and over, military and First Responders with ID, $5 for kids ages 6-12 and free for five and under. MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa – The inaugural Dale DeFrance Memorial will be Thursday, May 10, with IMCA Late Models racing for $1,500 to win and a top prize of $1,000 at stake for IMCA Modifieds. The 44-lap Late Model feature pays $200 to start while the 25-lap Modified main event pays $140 to start, $100 tow and is a qualifier for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. Jackson Motorplex forced to postpone IMCA Frostbuster

By Shawn Miller JACKSON, Minn. – With more than 24 inches of snow accumulating a little more than a week ago, which further hindered the ability to get any track preparation done thus far this season, Jackson Motorplex officials were forced to postpone the IMCA Frostbuster. The event was originally scheduled for April 28 and pushed back to May 5 because of the weather. Now the five IMCA divisions will compete on Saturday, June 16. Jackson Motorplex will now kick off its season on Friday, May 11, with the Great Lakes Shootout presented by Tweeter Contracting and Harvey’s Five Star Roofing. Heartland Steel-sponsored IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars are on the program for the lidlifter. Hot laps are slated for 7:30 p.m. with racing to follow.
