Ken Schrader joins IMCA Modifieds for Springfield opener

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Quick-Quarter of the Springfield Raceway has been given the green flag to get the 2020 race season underway as Ken Schrader will be in competition against the tough area IMCA Modified drivers this Saturday, May 30. The pit gates will open at 3:45 p.m. with the grandstands opening at 5 p.m. Hot laps are slated to start at 6:15 with racing action slated at 6:45 p.m. Draw cut-off will be 6:10 p.m. Pit passes for adults are $35 with adult grandstand admission $15. Social distancing guidelines will be in effect in the pits and the grandstand. Masks are optional and hand sanitizer will be available at the track. Drivers are asked to pre-register on MyRacePass. IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars featured Friday at Heart O’ Texas

WACO, Texas – IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars join the Friday lineup, racing for $750 to win and $100 to start on opening night of Heart O’ Texas Speedway’s Quarantine Weekend. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National and Texas State points will be awarded to the winged warriors as well on May 29, as they join IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Smiley’s Racing Products Southern SportMods for the draw/redraw show at Waco. Gates open at 6 p.m. and racing starts at 8 p.m. There is no entry fee and pit passes are $35. Spectator admission is $15 for adults, $12 for seniors and military, $5 for students ages 6-12 and free for ages five and under. Drivers will be allowed up to six people in their pit area and social distancing guidelines will be followed on both sides of the track. Face masks are recommended and hand sanitizer stations will be located around the facility.

Dodge City sets June 14 practice to precede season opener

By Lonnie Wheatley DODGE CITY, Kan. – At long last, the 2020 season opener atop the 3/8-mile Dodge City Raceway Park clay oval in southwest Kansas is within reach. But before the season officially gets under way on June 20, the track has set an open practice for Sunday, June 14, from 5-9 p.m. The practice set for the 3/8-mile oval precedes the Saturday, June 20 season opener that features the $750-to-win IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock Roundup with the Precise Racing Products Sprint Cars, IMCA Modifieds, IMCA SportMods and IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars in action as well. With the initial delays to the season due to COVID-19 restrictions, the June 20-21 weekend launches a season that includes 10 nights of competition atop the 3/8-mile clay oval. Phillips County Raceway primed for opening weekend, IMCA.TV broadcast

HOLYOKE, Colo. – A weekend twinbill starts the season for five IMCA divisions this Friday and Saturday, May 29 and 30 at Phillips County Raceway. IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks, Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods and Mach-1 Sport Compacts run both nights at Holyoke for IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly racing National, regional, state and track, as well as Tri-State Tour and Colorado Alliance Tour points. Both race programs start at 7 p.m. and promoter Joe Bellm explained that a “10 and 10” rule would be in effect in both the grandstands and pit area while maintaining social distancing: Spectators must not sit in groups of more than 10 and no more than 10 people should be with each car in the pits. Masks are recommended but not required. Both programs will be broadcast by IMCA.TV. Concessions will be available on both sides of the track.

Late Model, Stock Car pre-registration encouraged for 34 Raceway event

WEST BURLINGTON, Iowa – Two days remain before the IMCA Sunoco Late Model and IMCA Sunoco Stock Car openers at 34 Raceway and officials are encouraging racers to get pre-registered now at https://www.myracepass.com/tracks/2697/registrations/. Pre-registration is $200 per car and that includes eight pit passes per registrant. Upon arrival to the track drivers will receive a personalized envelope with eight wristbands inside. Driver and crew are asked to arrive together if possible. Drivers are also asked to print and sign the pit release in advance and bring it with them. Winnemucca raises Shootout stakes for IMCA Modifieds

WINNEMUCCA, Nev. – The stakes got even higher for IMCA Modifieds running at Winnemucca Regional Raceway’s fourth annual High Desert Classic Shootout. The Saturday, May 30 feature pays $2,000 to win while the Sunday, May 31 main event carries a $3,000 top check. Both are Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifiers. Total Modified purse for the special, presented by Model T Hotel and Casino, is $11,000 and based on 20-car fields. Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods race for $500 to win both nights. OSBORN, Mo. – Modified Madness is set for Friday, May 22 at U.S. 36 Raceway and the three IMCA divisions running have an increased payout for this special event. IMCA Modifieds run for $1,000 and a spot of the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot at The Bullring while IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods both chase $400 top checks and the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock feature pays $300 to win. JEFFERSON, S.D. – Park Jefferson is the place to be for the fourth annual Memorial Duels this Saturday, May 23. The Duel sees the first Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifier of the year at Park Jefferson Speedway for IMCA Modifieds. Paying $1,000 to win and $150 to start, the best of Siouxland’s IMCA Modifieds will be on hand. DENISON, Iowa – Five IMCA divisions see action under the Friday night lights when Crawford County Speedway hosts its opening night event of 2020. IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks, Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods and Mach-1 Sport Compacts run at Denison on May 15, chasing IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, regional, state and track points. Drivers in all divisions are asked to register ahead of time through the link on the track Facebook page. A maximum of 10 people can accompany each race car and pit passes will be purchased at the pit gate; driver sign-in will be completed at the score tower.
