CALHAN, Colo. (Aug. 27) – Two IMCA special series see action this weekend at El Paso County Speedway and at I-76 Speedway. Both the Precise Racing BST Series for IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds and Chubby Chas­sis Series for IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars hit the dirt Saturday, Aug. 31 at Calhan and Sunday, Sept. 1 at Fort Morgan. Sunday’s Modified feature at I-76 pays $1,000 to win and is a qualifying event for the 2014 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. BEATRICE, Neb. (Aug. 27) – Five IMCA divisions are on the Fri­day, Aug. 30 Nebraska State Champion­ships card at Be­atrice Speedway. IMCA Modifieds race for $1,000 to win and a mini­mum of $100 to start their 2014 Fast Shafts All-Star Invita­tional ballot qualifier. Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods are in the running for $600 to win and a mini­mum of $75 to start. IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars chase a $600 top prize and $50 to start. IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks run for $400 to win and $50 to start; Mach-1 Sport Compacts vie for $150 to win and $40 to start. Aztec hosts Witten’s Warriors Stock Car Shootout on Aug. 31, Sept. 1 AZTEC, N.M. (Aug. 26) – Racing is the second most important aspect of the Witten’s Warriors Stock Car Shootout special at Aztec Speedway this Saturday, Aug. 31 and Sunday, Sept. 1. The event is a fundraiser for the Carrie Tingley Hospital Foundation in Albuquerque and helps raise awareness about cerebral palsy. Witten’s Warriors T-shirts, sweatshirts, hats and other souve­nirs will be sold at the track both days. Features for the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds will be held both nights, each paying $1,000 to win. Both Modified features are qualifiers for the 2014 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. Saturday’s Stock Car winner gets a $300 product certificate from Sybesma Graphics.
