Opening night races rescheduled due to postponed Frostbusters

VINTON, Iowa (April 8) – Regular season openers at four IMCA sanctioned tracks have been rescheduled due to postponed Frostbuster specials. First local point races of the season at Southern Iowa Speedway will be Wednesday, April 16. Marshalltown Speedway opens on Friday, April 18, Boone Speedway on Saturday, April 19 and Benton County Speedway in Vinton on Sunday, April 20. Southern Iowa Speedway hosts a Wednesday, April 9 practice preceding the Frostbusters. That session starts at 7 p.m. and pit passes are $15. Dates for the Frostbusters are Thursday, April 10 at Oskaloosa; Friday, April 11 at Mar­shalltown; Saturday, April 12 at Boone; and Sunday, April 13 at Vinton. IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds run for $1,000 to win in Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational bal­lot qualifying features at each Frostbuster. Desert Thunder hosts April 11-12 Border States Racing Series doubleheader

PRICE, Utah – Desert Thunder Raceway hosts the inaugural doubleheader for the Border States Racing Series this Friday and Saturday, April 11-12. IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds run for $500 to win and IMCA SportMods for $200 to win both nights. All applicable IMCA points will be awarded. Pit gates at Price open at 2 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 4 p.m. both days. Hot laps follow the 5 p.m. drivers’ meeting with racing at 6 p.m. Spectator admission is $8 for adults, $7 for seniors, $6 for kids ages six through 12 and free for five and under. Car and driver is $55 for Modifieds and $40 for SportMods; pit passes are $25 for one day or $35 for a two-day pass. Transponders are required and can be rented for $5 a night. Also on the Friday and Saturday programs are super stocks, hobby stocks and quarter midgets. Ten dates, at tracks in Utah, New Mexico and Colorado, comprise the Border States Racing Series.

Raceway Park postpones Double Down Spring Nationals

JEFFERSON, S.D. (April 7) – Raceway Park has postponed its season-opening Double Down Spring Nationals to Friday and Saturday, April 18 and 19. Originally scheduled for this weekend, the WinnaVegas Casino Resort-sponsored special boasts a $1,000 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifying feature for IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds and $500 to win features for IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods and Mach-1 Sport Com­pacts all chase $500 top checks on Friday. Ice Breakers take BST Series to Phillips County, I-76

HOLYOKE, Colo. (April 7) – Three Blood, Sweat and Tears series, including the inaugural tour for Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods, see their first action of the new race season during April 12 and 13 Ice Breaker events at Phillips County Raceway and I-76 Speedway. The Precise Racing Series for IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds, Addiction Chassis Series for IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Leary Racing Products Series for the Northern SportMods travel to Holyoke on Saturday and to Fort Morgan on Sunday. Denison Deery canceled, IMCA Late Model tour opens at Davenport April 11

DENISON, Iowa (April 3) – The Saturday, April 5 Deery Brothers Summer Series event at Craw­ford County Speedway in Denison has been canceled. What was to have been opening night for the 28th annual tour for IMCA Late Models became a casualty of a forecast that can best be summarized as cold and rainy with the potential for freezing precipitation as well. The race will not be rescheduled. IMCA Eagle Motorsports RaceSaver Sprint Cars were also to have made their Iowa debut Saturday at Crawford County. Davenport Speedway will host the series lidlifter with a Friday, April 11 feature that pays $3,000 to win and a minimum of $300 to start. Practice starts at 2 p.m. at Sunset Speedway Park in Banks and at Cottage Grove Speedway. Lee County Speedway opens Saturday with Calvin Meyer benefit

DONNELLSON, Iowa – Opening night for all five weekly IMCA divisions, along with a special visit to Lee County Speedway in Donnellson by the Sprint Invaders has been moved to Saturday, April 5 The show originally scheduled for Friday night begins with hot laps at 5:15 p.m. and racing at 6 p.m. IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds race for $500 to win and a minimum of $100 to start. Five sanctioned divisions are in action Friday, April 4 at Lee County Speedway in Donnellson for the first weekly event in the Belleville Motor Sports North Central Region. Deery Series destined for Denison in 2014 opener

DENISON, Iowa (March 26) – The Deery Brothers Summer Series ends an absence of nearly 20 years when the 2014 tour opens on Saturday, April 5 at Crawford County Speedway. The IMCA Late Model series made its one and only appearance at Denison back on July 28 of 1994. Late Models will be paired with IMCA Eagle Motorsports RaceSaver Sprint Cars for their much-anticipated return engagement. The main event pays $3,000 to win and a minimum of $300 to start. Willamette Speedway hosts April 5 car show

By Ben Deatherage LEBANON, Ore. – Want to see your favorite race cars displayed right before your very eyes? How about seeing all these drivers on the race track shaking down their mounts? How about all of this all in one day? That’s right, you will see both a car show and a test and tune play date all in one afternoon/evening at Willamette Speedway on Saturday, April 5. The car show will start at noon and last until around 3 p.m. with cars being displayed in the gravel area across from the pit sign-in building. Teams will then be allowed to take their car back into the pit area and get their machines ready for the test and tune session. This session is expected to last from 4 p.m. until dusk. Folks wanting to watch the practice from the main grandstands get in for free while pit passes are $15 and car and driver fees are just $30.
