I-35 preps for Skip Rose Memorial, XSAN Hawkeye Dirt Tour opener

MASON CITY, Iowa – IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modified drivers will have two opportunities to take home $1,000 checks during the Memorial holiday at I-35 Speedway.

Both the Sunday, May 25 Skip Rose Memorial and Monday, May 26 XSAN Hawkeye Dirt Tour features at Mason City pay $1,000 to win and are qualifying events for the 2014 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot.

IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars also race for $1,000 to win each night. Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Mach-1 Sport Compacts are also on Sunday and Monday programs.

IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, regional, Allstar Performance State and local track points will be given both nights. Special series points for the Modifieds are also at stake on Monday.

Pit gates open at 4 p.m., the grandstand opens at 5 p.m., the draw closes at 5:45 p.m. and racing follows 6 p.m. hot laps Sunday and Monday.

Grandstand admission is $15 for adults, $5 for children ages 6-12 and free for five and under. Family passes are $40. Pit passes are $30.

The three previous XSAN Hawkeye Dirt Tour features held at I-35 have produced as many different winners: Richie Gustin Jr. of Gilman in 2010, Josh Ruby of Lakota in 2011 and Mike Hansen of Alton in 2012.
Last year’s scheduled event was lost to inclement weather, as was the original opening night show this season at Benton County Speedway.
