$4,000 is possible to win at 20th annual Hogan Memorial

VINTON, Iowa (July 6) – It’s billed as the most anticipated event of the year at Benton County Speedway and the 20th annual Hogan Memorial is a good bet to be just that. The Sunday, July 13 IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modified main event pays $1,250 to win, another $50 for each of the 40 laps led, plus $250 to the leader at midway. With the addition of a $500 hard charger award, that makes for a potential payoff of $4,000. Deery Series returns to West Liberty for July 8 show

WEST LIBERTY, Iowa (July 3) – The Deery Brothers Summer Series makes its second of three visits this season to West Liberty Raceway on July 8. Pit gates open at 4 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5 p.m. for next Tuesday’s $3,000 to win, minimum $300 to start IMCA Late Model show. Racing follows 6:30 p.m. hot laps. Lab testing confirms Mullen $10,000 richer

VINTON, Iowa (July 2) – Samples of the tires Mike Mullen used in winning the Clash at the Creek special for IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds have passed testing conducted at an independent laboratory. The June 26 victory at Francis Creek paid $10,000. This was the second time this season tire samples have been sent for testing. IMCA officials indicated sampling will continue throughout the 2014 point season.

Redline Racing Parts North Star Series is at Fairmont on the Fourth

FAIRMONT, Minn. – A holiday show is next for the Redline Racing Parts North Star Series this Friday, July 4 at Fairmont Raceway. IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Mach-1 Sport Compacts are on the track for the fifth of 10 tour dates this season. Red, White and Blue Series resumes Saturday at 141

FRANCIS CREEK, Wis. – This Saturday, July 5th marks the second of three Gandrud Chevrolet Red, White and Blue Series IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modified events at 141 Speedway. These $1,000 to win, minimum $120 to start, Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifiers will wrap up Aug. 23 as part of the weekly racing series at Francis Creek. Tim Czarneski is the current series leader with Darin Duffy in second. Shawn Kilgore, Benji LaCrosse and Brad Lautenbach round out the top five in Red, White and Blue Series points. Raceway Park tunes up for mid-season championships

By Bob Coney JEFFERSON, S.D. (June 29) – With mid-season championships only days away, five drivers tuned up with trips to victory lane on Sunday at Raceway Park. Ramsey Meyer worked his way through the field in the early laps and went on to win the KISS 107.1 FM IMCA Sport Compact feature. Chasing Meyer to the flag was Cody Thompson, while Mark Holmes, Jr. rounded out the top three. The MOPAR IMCA Hobby Stock feature was dominated by Tony Fetterman, while Zach Ankrum and Lucas Phillips closed out good runs to fill out the top three. The battle between Todd Boulware and Karl Brewer for supremacy in the Skyline Casino IMCA Northern SportMod division continued with Boulware coming out on top this week, followed by Brewer and R.J. CORTEZ, Colo. – The Saturday, July 5 Jim Henry Memorial follows regular weekly racing on Independence Day at Montezuma County Fairgrounds Speedway. All applicable IMCA points will be awarded both days. On Saturday, IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds race for $750 to win with 15 or more entries. IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars are guaranteed $500 to win, Scoggin-Dickey Parts Center Southern SportMods $300 to win, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks $150 to win and Mach-1 Sport Compacts $80 to win. XSAN Hawkeye Dirt Tour event on for tonight at Algona

ALGONA, Iowa (July 1) – The XSAN Hawkeye Dirt Tour event will be held as scheduled tonight (Tuesday) at Algona Raceway. Touring IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds headline Algona’s Salute to Veterans Spectacular in a $2,000 to win main event. The runner-up earns $1,050, with $950 paid for third and $850 for fourth. Top prize for IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars is $1,500 while Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks both vie for $1,200 to win. The Mach-1 Sport Compact feature pays $200 to win. Independence Deery Series washed out, postponed to Aug. 6

INDEPENDENCE, Iowa (July 1) – Persistent heavy rain in recent days has forced the postponement of the Deery Brothers Summer Series for IMCA Late Models event at Independence Motor Speedway. Originally slated for tonight (Tuesday), it has been rescheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 6. Start times and prices will remain the same. Grandstand admission is $15 for adults and $12 for seniors and students. Kids 11 and under will be admitted free if accompanying a paid adult. Pit passes are $30. IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods were also scheduled to join the Late Models in the July 1 program and will remain part of the Aug. 6 make-up date. The winner’s share of the Northern SportMod feature has been raised from $500 to $600. The Hobby Stock feature will also pay $100 more than originally advertised. That feature winner will earn $400. IMCA Modifieds race for $1,000 to win Thursday at Luxemburg

By Greg Aregoni LUXEMBURG, Wis. – This Thursday night, July 3, motors will be cranked at Luxemburg Speedway and the IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modified winner will earn $1,000. “We decided we wanted our drivers and fans to be able to spend the holiday with their families. We know a lot of the Luxemburg Speedway crowd enjoys the fireworks and family time,” said Gene Mathu, track promoter. This will be a regular point night in all five divisions.
