Dewease Breaks Through with First IMCA Sprint Car Victory at Bedford with Laurel Highlands Sprint Series

BEDFORD, Pa. (May 1, 2026) — The Laurel Highlands Sprint Series returned for its second visit of the season to Bedford Fairgrounds Speedway, and Cole Dewease made the most of the opportunity. The Fayetteville driver held off a determined field to capture his first career RaceSaver IMCA Sprint Car feature win. Dewease took control early and maintained a steady pace out front, but never had much breathing room. Josh Spicer, already a winner at Bedford earlier this season, quickly moved from fourth to second within the opening laps and kept the pressure on throughout the event. Despite the challenge, Dewease remained composed and consistent, fending off every advance to secure the milestone victory. At the checkers, Dewease was followed by Spicer, Timmy Bittner, Kasey Weaver, and Donnie Hendershot to complete the top five.

Weaver Breaks Through with First Port Royal Sprint Car Victory

By Frank Buhrman PORT ROYAL, Pa. (May 2, 2026) — Lock Haven’s Jeff Weaver completed a steady climb to the top at Port Royal Speedway Saturday night, earning his first River Valley Builders PA Sprint Series feature win at “The Speed Palace” against a strong field of 47 RaceSaver IMCA Sprint Cars. Weaver, who has shown speed throughout the season with two heat race wins and a B-Main victory, finally converted that pace into a feature triumph. Starting up front, he led all 20 laps and crossed the line 1.678 seconds ahead of Timmy Bittner of Beech Creek. After beginning his PASS career in 2018, Weaver spent his early seasons competing primarily at smaller tracks, earning a win at Path Valley Speedway in 2020. He began racing at Port Royal the following year, steadily improving with a 10th-place finish in his second start, a top five the next season, and a third-place run two years ago. Saturday night marked the breakthrough he had been building toward. The closing laps proved challenging as Bittner, a familiar rival [Read More]

Volk Dominates Hobby Stock Arlington Opener

By Susan Allen ARLINGTON, Minn. (May 2, 2026) — The 46th season at Arlington Raceway got underway with a standout Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stock feature. Chad Volk of Lake Crystal, who started third, had his car dialed in early and led the entire distance to score his first win of the year in the B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region. Cory Probst, who started 10th, appeared to be a contender before a caution sent him to the back on a restart. Volk held steady out front while Taylor Manderfield tried to reel him in but settled for second. Austin Jahnz finished third, followed by Brad Becker, while Brad Jones made an impressive charge from 19th to complete the top five. Becker also won the best appearing car contest. A strong field of 25 Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars took the green, with only one early caution slowing the pace. Josh Larsen of Glencoe took command from the outset and led all 20 laps to earn his first EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region victory of the season. Dan Mackenthun [Read More]

Pella Powers Through Mayhem to Claim Eagle Hobby Stock Victory

By Greg Soukup EAGLE, Neb. (May 2, 2026) — After a bout of liquid sunshine forced the cancellation of what was to be the season opener at Eagle Raceway last Saturday, this Saturday greeted teams and fans with a beautiful spring day—and the Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stocks made sure the wait was worth it, delivering the wildest race of the night that remained unpredictable to the very end. The initial start attempt saw a five-car pile-up in turns three and four that eliminated several contenders before a lap could even be completed. After another caution on the restart, a lap was finally made official with Dan Markham leading, followed by Neil Pella, Trenton Dowty, and Jason Hansen. From there, the race began to take shape as drivers worked through changing track conditions and traffic. Pella, from Adams, who started fourth, took over the top spot on lap four and never relinquished it, navigating the chaos to score his first win of the year in the B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region. Brayden Hurley made an impressive charge [Read More]

Gomola Capitalizes on Late Shakeup for Clinton County Sprint Car Win

Mill Hall, Pa. (Apr. 24, 2026) — Jacob Gomola of Guys Mills, Pennsylvania, was victorious Friday in the RaceSaver IMCA Sprint Car feature at Clinton County Speedway, earning his first win of the 2026 season after starting third. Jeffrey Weaver and Matt Tebbs brought the field to the green flag, with Weaver taking the early lead. Tebbs, Gomola, Timmy Bittner, and Dale Schweikart rounded out the top five. A caution on lap six slowed the field when Austin Greenland stopped on the track. Weaver maintained the lead on the restart as the battle for second between Tebbs and Bittner intensified. On lap 14, the two made contact entering turn one, sending both cars flipping. Both drivers were able to walk away from the incident. As the field prepared for the restart, Weaver suffered a mechanical issue and was forced to the pit area. Gomola inherited the lead with 11 laps remaining. On the restart, Gomola led Jim Pattock, Schweikart, John Walp, and Cory Stabley. Schweikart moved past Pattock for second on lap 19, but Gomola remained [Read More]

Heffner Takes Delayed Port Royal Feature

By Frank Buhrman PORT ROYAL, Pa. (Apr. 18, 2026) — Kenny Heffner added to his reputation as one of Port Royal Speedway’s most reliable front-runners in the River Valley Builders PA Sprint Series by taking the 20-lap make-up feature Saturday from April 4. Heffner fought off a determined Jarrett Cavalet to win the Penns Valley Meat Market feature that had been rained out two weeks ago. It was his fifth career win at the “Speed Palace,” a track just over an hour south of his Watsontown home. Heffner lined up fourth on the grid for the race—he had been a heat race winner for the event on April 4—with Cavalet, from Hollidaysburg, taking the early lead. The race only went one lap before Friday night’s Selinsgrove winner Drew Young got into the turns three and four guardrail, barely avoiding a flip and ending his night. Another caution followed, this time for a slowing Tyler Brehm. Doug Dodson, who had started fifth, also pulled into the pits during the stoppage. The next restart set the stage for [Read More]

Drew Young Tops Selinsgrove

By Frank Buhrman SELINSGROVE, Pa. (Apr. 17, 2026) — Former rodeo competitor Drew Young of Beaver Springs scored his second Selinsgrove Speedway victory, and fifth of his career, Friday night in the 20-lap River Valley Builders PA Sprint Series feature at the big Snyder County oval. Young, the track’s 2025 Sportsmanship Award winner, inherited first place on lap two when Dustin Young of Danville, no relation, blew his engine after taking the early lead. Drew Young then held off several challenges from 2025 PASS and Selinsgrove Rookie of the Year Chris Dolan of York to win by 0.183 seconds. Drew Young was runner-up in the PASS season standings last year. He joined the RaceSaver IMCA Sprint Car tour as a regular in 2021 after a four-race trial the year before and scored his first series win in 2023. Dolan notched his best career finish and was more than two seconds ahead of third-place finisher Kruz Kepner of nearby Kreamer, the 2025 PASS champion who also claimed the track’s IMCA Sprint Car division title last year.
