Stafford Steals Saturday SportMod Win on Final Corner at Central Arizona

By Rowdy Briggs CASA GRANDE, Ariz. (May 2, 2026) — The Karl Kustoms IMCA Northern SportMods delivered one of Saturday’s wildest finishes at Central Arizona Raceway. A chaotic opening two turns brought out a quick caution before Tyke Miles took the lead once racing resumed. Miles spun one lap later, handing the lead to Eric Winemiller. Winemiller looked to be on his way to the win, but trouble getting around a lapped car on the final lap allowed Bubba Stafford Jr. to close in and steal the victory coming off turn four. Stafford, of Wittmann, charged from ninth to earn his third win of the year, all coming at Central Arizona Raceway. Winemiller was second, followed by Tyler Johnson, James Meile, who started 16th, and Miles. Madrid and McDaniel Split Hobby Stock Wins The Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stocks produced two different winners on the weekend. On Saturday, Joe Peterson led early before his hood began coming up with about five laps remaining. Peterson made it work until he bobbled off turn four, allowing Anthony Madrid to [Read More]

Ankrum Fends Off Malasek in Wild Hobby Stock Finish at Park Jefferson

By Chance Riley JEFFERSON, S.D. (May 1, 2026) — It was a chilly one Friday, but the racing action was hot at Park Jefferson Speedway, where the Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stocks put on a show in their 16-lap A main. Ninth-starting Zach Ankrum of Sioux City charged to his second win of the year at the track and in the B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region, but not without a fight. Birthday boy Cody Malasek, who turned 15, stormed back from the rear after an early incident and threw a last-lap slide job in a bid for the win, coming up just short. Wyatt Johnson charged from 14th to finish third, while Ben Schneiders and Steven Taylor rounded out the top five. Sioux City’s Tyler Thompson made it back-to-back wins in the Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts. Starting eighth, Thompson grabbed the lead on lap four and never looked back. Levi Volkert finished second, followed by Gilbert Aldape, Auston Honeycutt, and Mike Vogt. Jason Schneiders led most of the 20-lap Karl Kustoms IMCA Modified feature with Bob Moore [Read More]

Solum Strikes on Restart to Win Dirt Duel Stock Car Feature at Stuart

By Ben Deatherage STUART, Iowa (Apr. 29, 2026) — The 10th Annual Dynamic Drivelines Dirt Duel at Stuart Speedway witnessed Dillon Solum time a pivotal restart to perfection and drive away to win the Sunoco IMCA Stock Car feature, earning his first EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region victory of the season in the 20-lap, $1,000-to-win main event. Miciah Hidlebaugh, the 2022 track champion, jumped to the early lead and built a solid advantage while last year’s Bill Davis Memorial winner Brad Derry battled Oregon transplant Solum for second. Solum, now based in Winterset after relocating from Redmond, Oregon, secured the runner-up spot on lap three and began to close in. Solum applied heavy pressure on laps five and six, but Hidlebaugh held firm until a lap 11 restart changed everything. Solum perfectly timed the green and slipped past on the backstretch to take control before pulling away from the field despite multiple cautions in the closing stages. Derry won a multi-car battle for second, while defending Boone Speedway Stock Car champion and three-time IMCA Super Nationals [Read More]

Stephen Stiteler: From Rodeo Roads to His Rise in the Sport Compacts

By Ben Deatherage ALVORD, Texas (Apr. 29, 2026) — In a small North Texas town where the highway hum never really fades and cattle trailers roll past more often than commuter traffic, Stephen Stiteler has built a life defined by movement. Alvord, Texas, sits just north of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex—a quiet place with deep agricultural roots, where a park, a bank, and a handful of local businesses make up the heart of town. But just down the road lies something much bigger: the Fort Worth Stockyards, rodeo arenas, and a culture built around livestock and long days on the road. For Stiteler, it was the perfect fit. Because long before racing entered the picture, the road already had. A Life Before Racing Stiteler didn’t grow up chasing dirt track wins. “I raced go-karts when I was about 12 or 13, but only for a year,” he said. “I had three siblings and we were always busy with sports, so racing kind of went away.” Instead, his path took a different direction—one that kept him just [Read More]

Warner Wins Wild Hobby Stock Finish at Central Arizona

By Rowdy Briggs CASA GRANDE, Ariz. (Apr. 25, 2026) — Ty Warner drew the pole for the Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stock feature and made the most of it in an 18-lap thriller. Warner had Joe Peterson, Steve Bitting Jr., Anthony Madrid, Joel Magee, and Charles McDaniel III all breathing down his neck. Contact in lapped traffic on lap 18 sent Peterson to the hot pits with a flat tire. On the restart, Charles McDaniel Jr. broke and took teammate Tanner Benson into the wall. Warner held off Bitting on the late restart to score his first win of the year in the B&B Racing Chassis Southern Region for the Phoenix driver. Bitting finished second, followed by McDaniel III, Madrid, and Magee. Johnson and Winemiller Split SportMod Wins The Karl Kustoms IMCA Northern SportMods delivered strong action across two nights, producing two different winners. On Saturday, the feature went 14 laps caution-free and turned into a duel between Tyler Johnson and Bubba Stafford Jr. Johnson, of Laveen, held on for his third win of the year, with [Read More]

Peck Pounces Late to Win Park Jefferson Stock Car Feature

By Chance Riley JEFFERSON, S.D. (Apr. 24, 2026) — Friday night racing at Park Jefferson Speedway saw the Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars steal the show for the third straight week, and this time it was Sioux City, Iowa’s Greg Peck who made the winning move when it mattered most. Mike Vondrak paced much of the 18-lap main event, just as he had the week before, but was under constant pressure from a pack of drivers racing two- and three-wide behind him. Peck, who started sixth, methodically worked his way forward before making a late-race pass to score his first win of 2026 in the EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region. Vondrak settled for second, followed by Lowell Roeber in third. Travis Baker finished fourth, and Todd Gereau rounded out the top five. In the Karl Kustoms IMCA Modifieds, Sioux City’s Greg Taylor completed a clean sweep on the night, picking up his first win of the season in the Razor Chassis North Central Region. Jimmy Cole ran second, followed by R.J. Merchant, Shane DeMey, and Ricky Stephan. [Read More]

14-Year-Old Lancaster Cruises to Breakthrough Sport Compact Victory at Cottage Grove

By Ben Deatherage COTTAGE GROVE, Ore. (Apr. 25, 2026) — The 2026 season opener at Cottage Grove Speedway featured 14-year-old Rowen Lancaster of Eugene turning in a remarkable performance in the Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts, dominating the 20-lap feature to score his first career victory in his division debut. Lancaster wasted little time establishing himself as the driver to beat, leading the opening lap before a caution on lap three slowed the pace. On the restart, he quickly separated from the field and began building a commanding advantage. By the midway point, Lancaster had constructed a sizable lead and showed no signs of slowing, even after encountering lapped traffic on lap nine. Smooth and consistent, he maintained his pace throughout the remainder of the race. At the checkered flag, Lancaster crossed the line with a margin of victory exceeding seven seconds, completing a wire-to-wire effort in impressive fashion. Eric Cooper finished second, while defending track champion Dusten Henderson charged from 15th to third. Charles Trissell and 2024 Oregon State champion Burnie Bryant completed the top five. Olson and Oliver quickly distanced themselves from the field. Kevin Rose moved into third as the leaders approached lapped traffic, while Johnathon Logue worked into fourth as the laps wound down. Olson took the checkers for his first win of the season in the EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region, followed by Oliver, Logue, Rose, and Nathan Ballard. From the middle of the field, Kollin Hibdon raced to victory in the Karl Kustoms IMCA Modifieds. Owen Barnhill took charge early as Hibdon worked the low line to advance through the field.
