Saturday SSO win goes to defending champion Shouse

(June 24) – Defending champion Andy Shouse took the lead on lap two and never looked back in capturing his third victory of the season when the Sprint Series of Oklahoma visited Oklahoma Sports Park on Saturday night. Chad Koch and Chris Kelly started on the front row for the 20-lap IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car feature and it was Koch who quickly jumped into the lead. The fourth starting Shouse quickly moved into the runner-up position and was on the leader’s rear bumper entering turns three and four. Shouse got a run underneath Koch exiting turn four to take the lead on lap two and quickly opened a half-stretch lead. The leader encountered slower traffic on lap 10 which allowed Koch to cut the deficit in half. With three laps remaining, Shouse followed a slower car for the remaining laps allowing Koch to close to three car lengths. Design 500 giving new Lady Eagle awards in addition to Deery, IMCA Modified prizes

TUKWILA, Wash. – The company that popularized IMCA’s Lady Eagle award goes above and beyond for female drivers again in 2017. The Tukwila, Wash., driver suit and apparel manufacturer will give $250 product certificates to the top female competitor in each of the eight IMCA sanctioned divisions. The top driver in overall Lady Eagle point standings also receives a set of No Fly Zone SFI underwear. Design 500 is in its 19th year as an IMCA sponsor. Strickler strikes gold in green to checkered Fury at the Fairgrounds feature

(June 24) – One night after scoring a $10,000 victory, Kyle Strickler earned another $5,000 by picking up the win in the IMCA Modified feature in Shawano Speedway’s the Fury at the Fairgrounds. The 30 lap IMCA feature saw Strickler, the two-time IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s champion out of Mooresville, N.C., take the lead at the drop of the green flag. Nebraska racer Dylan Smith, also a former Super Nationals king and with a national title to his credit as well, took the lead on lap two. Smith used the high side of the track to race to a sizeable advantage over Strickler by lap 10. Strickler, known by the nickname ‘The High Side Tickler,’ searched the track looking for an advantage. MSD renews decal program support of IMCA Stock Car division

EL PASO, Texas – IMCA Sunoco Stock Car drivers are chief among beneficiaries of MSD sponsorship support for the sanctioning body. Kay wins thriller, Freiburger repeats at Dubuque

By Jerry Mackey DUBUQUE, Iowa (June 25) – The Out-Pace IMCA Late Model main event was a thriller on a fast-paced night of racing Sunday at Dubuque Speedway. Dan Shelliam quickly took the lead by using the extreme high line around the track and appeared to be planning on celebrating his anniversary in victory lane, but the late race heroics by Justin Kay changed those plans. Shelliam saw his huge lead erased by a lap 17 caution. Kay and Shelliam swapped the lead on every corner the last eight circuits by using very well executed slide jobs. When the final checkered flew it was Kay holding off Shelliam to garner the win. While the leaders were battling it out, the race for third was hotly contested as well. In the Casey’s General Stores IMCA Stock Car feature, Todd Gereau took control at the front of the field after a mid-race pileup in the first turn involving six cars shook up the field. In the final laps, Gereau came under heavy pressure from multi-time champion track Jason Ward but kept control of the inside line to take the win. The Total Motors IMCA Modified feature saw Jim Thies take his first win of the year in a near flag-to-flag performance. The Golden Auto Sales IMCA Hobby Stocks had another big field of cars, with action coming right down to the checkered flag. (June 26) – The drivers with the most feature wins in IMCA history was back in victory lane Sunday as Sunday’s main event at Lexington Raceway was dominated by David Murray Jr. Murray took the lead from Brandon Clough on lap four after Clough and Charles Stryker exchanged the lead multiple times in the first three laps. Stryker ended up bringing out the only yellow flag of the race after he spun out in turn four with five laps to go. All-time divisional wins leader Mike Nichols added another checkered to his 2017 resume in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature. Nichols took the lead on a lap-two restart following a spin in turn three. Casey Werkmeister gave Nichols a challenge for the lead late in the race but spun with only four laps remaining. Hoskinson charges to Off Road Hobby Stock checkers

Hoskinson passed front-runner Tracy Buck with five laps left and held off Cameron Wilkinson and Sal Hernandez to join Austin Brauner as the only drivers with two wins in the competitive division. Wilkinson grabbed second for a sixth top five finish with Hernandez taking third place.
