Ventura is back in action on Saturday

VENTURA, Calif. – After two weeks off, Ventura Raceway has a full program of action-packed racing by the beach headlined by the IMCA Modifieds.  IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Larry Shaw Race Cars Western Region, E3 Spark Plugs California State and track points will be awarded.  Pits open at noon, grandstands at 3 p.m.  Admission is adults $15, seniors, military and students $11 and kids 12 and under are free.  Check the www.venturaraceway.com website for a full schedule or the Facebook page for other events, notes and contests to get free tickets.

Late Model awards new to Champ Pans IMCA program

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. – Champ Pans expands its awards program to include a sixth division this season. Top 10 drivers in final national standings for IMCA Late Models will receive $50 product certificates from the Eau Claire, Wis., manufacturer. Opening night for Deery Series moves to Saturday at Maquoketa

DAVENPORT, Iowa (April 12) – Persistent cold and wet weather conditions have resulted in cancellation of tonight’s Rebel 5K Deery Brothers Summer Series event at Davenport Speedway. Opening night for the 33rd annual IMCA Late Model tour moves to Saturday, April 13 at Maquoketa Speedway, with night two of what is now a weekend doubleheader on Sunday, April 14 at Dubuque Speedway.  Both main events pay $2,500 to win and a minimum of $300 to start. Maquoketa hosts the inaugural Hershel Roberts/Ray Guss Sr. Memorial on Saturday.  Pit gates open and Late Model pre-tech starts at 2 p.m. Saturday. The drivers’ meeting is at 4:10 p.m. and hot laps are at 4:30 p.m., with racing to follow. Spectator admission is $20 for adults, $18 for seniors and students and free for ages 12 and under. Pit passes will be $30. Other sanctioned divisions running both nights are the IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods.

Dodge City reschedules IMCA Modified Stampede

By Lonnie Wheatley DODGE CITY, Kan. – With unseasonably cold weather hitting the area and potential snow in the forecast, Saturday’s racing action at Dodge City Raceway Park in southwest Kansas has been canceled.  The $1,000 to win seventh annual IMCA Modified Stampede originally set for April 13 will now take place during Dodge City’s next event on Saturday, April 27.  The Modified Stampede will be accompanied by a full docket of championship chase competition including Precise Racing Products DCRP Sprint Cars, IMCA SportMods, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks.

US 36 Raceway cancels April 12 program

OSBORN, Mo. – Due to unseasonably cool temperatures and high winds, US 36 Raceway offi­cials have made the decision to cancel racing for Friday, April 12, Season Championship Night number two.  Track officials had hoped the forecast would improve during the week but temperatures remained too cold and forced them to make the decision to cancel. Racing will return to the high banks of US 36 Raceway on Friday, April 19. Due to the cancella­tion this week, all weekly classes will be running next week. The E-modifieds were originally sched­uled to have the night off but due to this week’s cancellation, they have been added to the April 19 schedule. Championship Night number three on April 19 will feature IMCA Modifieds, IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods, as well as pure stocks and E-modifieds.  Pit gates will open at 5 p.m. and the grandstand will open at 6 p.m. Hot laps are at 7:30 p.m. and racing is at 8 p.m.

Marshalltown postpones Bill Davis Memorial

MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa – Marshalltown Speedway’s inaugural Bill Davis Memorial, scheduled for tonight (Thursday) at the famed High Banks has been postponed to July 11 during the Central Iowa Fair.  The IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing season opener will be pushed back a week to Friday, April 19.  “Due to cold temperatures and the amount of rain we have received, it will make it impossible to get the track ready,” explained promoter Toby Kruse. “It’s always hard to cancel an event but we want to make sure our fans and racers have the best experience when they come to Marshalltown.”  On the card next week at IMCA’s longest sanctioned track will be IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods.

Park Jefferson’s Defroster canceled

JEFFERSON, S.D. – Forecasts for low temperatures and concerns about the potential for frozen pipes have forced Park Jefferson Speedway track officials to cancel both nights of this weekend’s scheduled IMCA Defroster special. Next up on the Park Jefferson schedule is the South Dakota Sprint Car Nationals, with IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars on April 26 and April 27 cards. IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods also race on opening night, IMCA Modifieds and IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars on night two.

Seventh annual Modified Stampede this Saturday at Dodge City Raceway Park

By Lonnie Wheatley DODGE CITY, Kan. – After a stellar opening night that attracted a total of 108 racers to Dodge City Raceway Park this past Saturday night, the spotlight shifts to the IMCA Modifieds with Saturday night’s seventh Modified Stampede. Saturday’s card that will attract the top Modified contenders from throughout the area offers up a $1,000 winner’s share and Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot berth. Test and tune is April 13, 14 at Crystal

CRYSTAL, Mich. – If it’s April, it’s the beginning of another race season at Crystal Motor Speedway.  The annual test and tune sessions are set for Saturday and Sunday, April 13 and 14 from 2-5 p.m. and are open to any race machines. Admission will be $20 for the pits, but no charge to observe from the grandstands.  The opening night of racing will be April 20 with IMCA Modifieds on the program for the 32nd consecutive season.  Adult admission will be $12, kids ages 5-11 are $5 and pit passes are $30.
