Bailey impresses at Southern Oregon

By Don Martin II  WHITE CITY, Ore. (Aug. 17) – Jesse Bailey scored an impressive win in the 25-lap IMCA Modi­fied feature Saturday at Southern Oregon Speedway. Bailey made an impressive outside groove effort that gained him the lead late in the race.  Not even in the top five with 10 laps left, Bailey began working the higher line before a lap 20 yel­low flag bunched the field. On the restart, Bailey was making his a bid to move into second as another yellow flag flew.  Andy Freeman led Bailey and Jeremy Richey on the ensuing restart. Bailey made a high pass in turn four of the 24th lap to finally get the lead and eventual victory. Jorddon Braaten won the 20-lap Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod feature from the 10th starting spot. Becker is best in Arlington IMCA Hobby Stocks

ARLINGTON, Minn. (Aug. 17) – Brad Becker has tried weekly to unseat Eckblad Trucking IMCA Hobby Stock foe Cory Probst in victory lane and finally got the job done Saturday at Arlington Raceway. Becker started seventh and took the lead from Scott Koep on the fourth lap in the flag-to-flag race. Koep maintained second throughout the race with Luke Trebelhorn third and Probst following in fourth.  Justin Dose was first across the line in the Coors Light IMCA Sport Compact feature to win ahead of Alex Dostal and pick up his first trophy of the year.  Jeremy Schultz led the entire Alpha Media IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car feature flag to flag to win his first race of the year.  Brandon Beckendorf won the MN 93 IMCA Modified feature, Dean Cornelius paced the B&B Rac­ing Chassis IMCA Stock Car main and Matthew Looft collected the Unhinged Pizza IMCA North­ern SportMod checkers.

Gillmore gets first IMCA Modified win at Springfield

By Ronnie Williams  SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Hometown driver Ryan Gillmore charged early from his sixth starting spot and drove with ease to his first-ever Bad Boys Mowers IMCA Modified win Saturday before the capacity crowd at The Quick Quarter Springfield Raceway. Gillmore, driving the Andrew Smith car that won on opening night, had made several changes to the car during the week after a seventh place finish last week.  The youngster wasted no time in working through traffic early in the 20-lap feature and then kicked it in gear to capture the win in a strong run. “Last week was the first time since early in the season that we ran the car and we finished se­cond that night. By Lonnie Wheatley DODGE CITY, Kan. – Mayhem and a potential big cash giveaway to a lucky fan along with numerous other giveaways are on tap for Saturday night as racing action kicks back into high gear atop the 3/8-mile Dodge City Raceway Park clay oval in southwest Kansas. The Aug. 24 card is headlined by the popular sixth annual IMCA SportMod Mayhem event with the IMCA SportMods battling it out for a $1,000 winner’s share. Dan Shepherd Memorial Stock Car Shootout set at Canyon

PEORIA, Ariz. – IMCA Modifieds and IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars both race for $1,000 to win on night two of Canyon Speedway Park’s inaugural Dan Shepherd Memorial. The Sunday, Sept. 1 Modified main is a qualifying event for the 2020 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational and pays a minimum of $100 to start. The 77-lap Stock Car feature pays a minimum of $75 to start.  Also on Sunday, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks race for $500 to win, Mach-1 Sport Compacts for $250. On Saturday, Aug. 31, Modifieds race for $750 to win, Stock Cars for $500, Hobby Stocks for $250 and Sport Compacts for $150. Six points separate top three drivers as West Liberty show is next for Deery Series

WEST LIBERTY, Iowa – The points race going into the night is every bit as close as the racing will be when the Deery Brothers Summer Series travels to West Liberty Raceway this weekend. The Saturday, Aug. 24 IMCA Late Model tour feature pays $2,000 to win and a minimum of $300 to start.  Consistent Andy Eckrich has four top-five finishes through the first seven events of the season and brings the series point lead to town. Joel Callahan and Matt Ryan have each won once and sit four and six points out of first, respectively. Pit gates open at 4 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5 p.m. Saturday. IMCA national champions, top rookies earn awards from 10-year sponsor RH2

RIVERSIDE, N.J. – RH2 marks a decade of IMCA sponsorship this season, continuing an awards pro­gram benefitting top drivers in all eight sanctioned divisions. Super Nationals deadline for early registration now Aug. 29

Big excitement guaranteed at RaceSaver Nationals, today is final day to pre-enter at $15 discount rate

EAGLE, Neb. – The competition is already guaranteed to be top-rate at the seventh annual RaceSaver Nationals Aug. 29-Sept. 1.  But Eagle Raceway and event promoter Roger Hadan hopes to see even more entries for the event with the Big Wings, Big Excitement billing.  “We’ve got right around 100 drivers from 16 states pre-entered for this year’s event,” noted Hadan. “A lot of them have competed here before.
