Sites Charges From Seventh to Capture Fireball 25 at Afton

AFTON, N.Y. (Sept. 26, 2026) — Eddie Sites charged from seventh to capture the rescheduled Fireball 25 for the Close Racing Supply NY/Penn IMCA Modified Series Saturday night at Afton Motorsports Park.

Twenty-four Karl Kustoms IMCA Modifieds checked in for the 25-lap, $1,002-to-win feature on the 3/10-mile oval. The event was originally scheduled for Aug. 8 before weather forced its postponement.

Three eight-lap heat races opened the program, with Jacob McConnell, Sites, and Jakub Ingham collecting victories.

McConnell and Jason Butler shared the front row for the main event, with Gary Roberts and Matt Roberts starting from row two.

Sites had work to do from the seventh starting position but steadily moved the No. 15 toward the front. Keith Lamphere was also on the move after rolling off eighth.

When the 25 laps were complete, Sites had worked his way to the front to collect the Fireball 25 victory.

The triumph was Sites’ fifth Close Racing Supply Eastern Region victory of the 2026 season, with those five wins coming at four different tracks.

The $1,002 score was also a Fast Shafts All-Star Modified Invitational qualifier, putting Sites on the eligibility list to attempt to qualify for the 2027 Fast Shafts All-Star Modified Invitational at the Speedway Motors IMCA Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s.

Lamphere charged from eighth to finish second, while Butler finished third. Brad Sites was fourth, and Tyler Belcher completed the top five.

Randall Paxton made the biggest charge of the night. The Factoryville, Pa., driver started 24th and raced all the way to eighth, gaining 16 positions to earn hard charger honors.

The Close Racing Supply NY/Penn IMCA Modified Series now turns its attention to its season-ending Monster Bash weekend at Thunder Mountain Speedway Oct. 30-31.

The fourth annual Billy Ward Memorial opens the weekend Friday, Oct. 30, paying $1,004 to win and $125 to start. The second annual Ed and Jan Billings Classic follows Saturday, Oct. 31, with $3,116 awaiting the winner.

Morgan gets NY-Penn Series redemption at Bloomsburg

For NY-Penn IMCA Modified Series driver Rodney Morgan, that race was Bloomsburg Fair Raceway in 2021. After leading much of that event, invader David Stremme slipped by Morgan late to take the win. Coming back to Bloomsburg on June 19th, Morgan was determined to get back the one he missed out on a year ago. Series points leader Keith Jack Lamphere set the pace for the beginning of the 25 lap feature, with Ray McClure starting to his outside. Once the green flag waved, Lamphere took the race lead. McClure faded back as Rodney Morgan slid up to second, bringing David Stremme and Brad Sites along with him. The caution waved on lap four as Shawn Bruce found the turn one wall. NY-Penn IMCA Modified Series at Penn Can for Memorial Weekend show

SUSQUEHANNA, Pa. (May 25, 2022) – The Memorial Weekend sees touring Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds return to a familiar locale. Penn Can Speedway hosts round two of the Close Racing Supply NY-Penn IMCA Modified Series presented by Precision Hydraulic & Oil. The Sunday, May 29 main event pays $1,000 to win and a minimum of $100 to start. Winner of the 25-lapper at Susquehanna earns Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational qualifying eligibility. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Dirt Works Eastern Region and KMJ Performance State points, as well as series points, will be awarded. Pit gates open at 5 p.m. and racing follows 6:45 p.m. hot laps. Pit passes are $40. The NY-Penn Series show will be broadcast by IMCA.TV and DirtTrackDigest.TV. Eddie Sites won the series opener on April 30 at Skyline Raceway Motorsports Park.

Belcher Captures Fourth Annual KC Cole Memorial at Penn Can Speedway

(July 31, 2026) — Tyler Belcher regained the lead following a late restart and raced to victory in Friday night’s Fourth Annual KC Cole Memorial, earning the biggest win of the season for the Close Racing Supply NY/Penn IMCA Modified Series at Penn Can Speedway. Keith Lamphere and Tyler Stoddard won the evening’s heat races, while Belcher claimed the Dash 4 Cash presented by the Cole Family. Belcher started from the pole for the Hunter Peterbilt-sponsored feature and led the opening 12 laps before Lamphere slipped past for the top spot on lap 13. A caution on lap 16 gave Belcher another opportunity, and he capitalized by reclaiming the lead on the restart before pulling away to score the prestigious memorial victory. Foulger Charges Back for Last-Lap Stock Car Victory at Antioch’s Bill Bowers Memorial

(Sept. 26, 2026) — Troy Foulger completed a remarkable comeback from a flat tire with a last-lap pass to win the $1,000 Sunoco IMCA Stock Car feature, while Andrew Pearce collected $3,049 in the Karl Kustoms IMCA Modified headliner during Saturday night’s seventh annual Bill Bowers Memorial at Antioch Speedway. After a hard crash in his own car at Boone Speedway two weeks earlier during the Speedway Motors IMCA Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s, Foulger climbed aboard the Mike Villanueva-provided entry for the Bill Bowers Memorial. Laney Holds Off Diercks in Traffic for Kathy Dlouhy Memorial Victory at Cedar County

By Jerry Mackey TIPTON, Iowa (Sept. 27, 2026) — Cedar County Raceway hosted 152 race teams Sunday for the Kathy Dlouhy Memorial, an event honoring a woman who poured her heart and soul into the Tipton facility. The Modifieds headlined the program with 24 cars taking the green for the 20-lap, $1,500-to-win feature. Cody Laney advanced from the third row and took the lead away from early pacesetter Donovan Lodge. Laney remained out front as Spencer Diercks began closing the gap late in the race. Lapped traffic gave Diercks an opportunity to challenge in the closing circuits, but Laney held him off by less than a car length to secure the win. The win was Laney’s sixth of the 2026 season at five different tracks and his first at Cedar County this year. It was also the Torrance, Calif., driver’s fourth Razor Chassis North Central Region victory.
