Sites Charges From Seventh to Capture Fireball 25 at Afton

(Sept. 26, 2026) — Eddie Sites charged from seventh to capture the rescheduled Fireball 25 for the Close Racing Supply NY/Penn IMCA Modified Series Saturday night at Afton Motorsports Park. Twenty-four Karl Kustoms IMCA Modifieds checked in for the 25-lap, $1,002-to-win feature on the 3/10-mile oval. The event was originally scheduled for Aug. 8 before weather forced its postponement. Three eight-lap heat races opened the program, with Jacob McConnell, Sites, and Jakub Ingham collecting victories. McConnell and Jason Butler shared the front row for the main event, with Gary Roberts and Matt Roberts starting from row two. Sites had work to do from the seventh starting position but steadily moved the No. 15 toward the front. Keith Lamphere was also on the move after rolling off eighth. When the 25 laps were complete, Sites had worked his way to the front to collect the Fireball 25 victory. Close Racing Supply NY/Penn IMCA Series Returns to Afton for Fireball 25 on Aug. 8

(Aug. 4, 2026) — Afton Motorsports Park will honor one of its longtime competitors on Saturday, Aug. 8, as the Fireball 25 pays $1,002 to win for the Close Racing Supply NY/Penn IMCA Series. The 25-lap special recognizes longtime IMCA Modified driver Gary Roberts and features a unique purse that pays $102 to start the feature, along with $100 to each heat race winner. The Fireball 25 also serves as a qualifying event for the 2026 Fast Shafts All-Star Modified Invitational. The feature winner will earn eligibility to attempt to qualify for the Fast Shafts All-Star Modified Invitational, held during the Speedway Motors IMCA Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s in September. Sites prevails at NY-Penn’s Billy Ward Memorial

Sites took the lead early in Saturday’s Billy Ward Memorial at Afton Motorsports Park and never looked back, motoring to the $1,504 checkers in the inaugural NY-Penn Series event for the late long-time IMCA competitor. Rick Watt and Jeff Cardinale started on the front row in the second race of the third annual tour, with Cardinale dropping to the back while dealing with an ill car and moving Shawn Bruce up to the outside pole. NY-Penn IMCA Modified Series has repeat winner as Sites conquers Afton

By Todd Burgess AFTON, N.Y. (July 30) – Brad Sites overcame another bad draw to become the first repeat winner in the NY-Penn IMCA Modified Series Friday at Afton Motorsports Park. The 25-lap main event had Joe Novak and Rodney Morgan lead the field to green as series point leader Sites took the initial green from the ninth starting spot. Novak jumped out to the early lead but it was short-lived as he pushed wide out of turn four on lap three and Rodney Morgan was right there to grab the top spot. Just as the pass was made, the caution flew which resulted in Keith Jack Lamphere starting at the rear of the field on the ensuing green as Sites had already moved up to sixth. Rush County Speedway Closes Inaugural IMCA Season with Last Call Classic Oct. 23-24

(Oct. 13, 2026) — Rush County Speedway will close its first full Speedway Motors IMCA Weekly Racing season with the Last Call Classic, a two-night event scheduled for Friday and Saturday, Oct. 23-24, at The Bullring on the Rush County Fairgrounds. The event features United Rebel Sprint Series (URSS) competitors alongside Karl Kustoms IMCA Modifieds, Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars, and Karl Kustoms IMCA Northern SportMods. The weekend offers $1,500 to win for both Modifieds and Stock Cars, $1,000 for the URSS, and $750 for Northern SportMods. William Gould returned to the top of the Karl Kustoms IMCA Modified ranks for the first time in 13 years, Zach Zeitner captured his second straight Sunoco IMCA Late Model National championship, Lee Goos Jr. earned his third consecutive RaceSaver IMCA Sprint Car crown, and Dillon Raffurty continued his unprecedented run with a sixth straight Stealth Racing IMCA Mod Lite title. Eckrich Earns Saturday Night Dirt Stars Modified Victory at Davenport

By Mike McGuire DAVENPORT, Iowa (Oct. 10, 2026) — Jace Eckrich’s $1,000 Karl Kustoms IMCA Modified victory highlighted the second and final night of the Davenport Dirt Stars at Davenport Speedway. The two-night program featured plenty of action after Friday morning showers left the racing surface fast and challenging for competitors. Eckrich wasted little time getting to the front in Saturday’s feature, charging from third to lead the opening circuit. Jason Schueller moved ahead on lap two, but Eckrich answered the following time around and regained command. He controlled the remainder of the feature and crossed the finish line with a two-second advantage. Jace Whitt finished second for the second consecutive night, while Friday winner Brandon Durbin was third. Matt Werner finished fourth, and Shane Paris rounded out the top five.
