Kreider Returns from Illness to Capture Dramatic Bridgeport Sprint Victory

SWEDESBORO, N.J. (Aug. 8, 2026) — Jared Kreider’s return to the cockpit couldn’t have gone much better.

Back in action after missing the past month due to illness, the Stockton, N.J., driver rallied on the final lap to score his second career Mid-Atlantic Sprint Series victory in Saturday night’s 25-lap DCB Plumbing & Heating Mid-Atlantic Sprint Series presented by Capitol Renegade feature at Bridgeport Speedway.

Kreider, who also topped hot laps and won one of the All-State Auto Glass heat races, chased Tim Iulg for most of the race before a late caution and mechanical trouble for the leader opened the door.

Shelby Kelly and Kreider shared the front row, with Kreider leading the opening lap before Iulg charged underneath him on lap two to seize the lead. Iulg established a comfortable advantage while Kreider settled into second and Troy Betts battled Jeremy Kornbau for third.

As the race reached halfway, Eddie Wagner joined the battle after advancing into sixth and lapped traffic soon became a factor. Iulg expertly worked through slower cars, but Kreider steadily reeled him back in.

With five laps remaining, Iulg caught Rick Lafferty while Kreider closed rapidly. Just as the leaders prepared for a thrilling finish in traffic, Andrew Turpin slowed on the backstretch to bring out the race’s only caution. At nearly the same moment, Iulg’s front wing came off after the yellow had already been displayed.

The single-file restart left a two-lap shootout for the victory. Kreider dove underneath Iulg entering turn one but couldn’t complete the pass before the white flag. On the final circuit he repeated the move, this time making it stick to score his second career MASS victory and his first at Bridgeport Speedway.

Iulg salvaged second despite running the closing laps without a front wing. Betts recorded his 12th top-five finish in 13 series starts by taking third, while Kelly recorded her best finish of the season in fourth. Kornbau completed the top five after making the 6½-hour trip from western Pennsylvania.

Kreider and Ryan Schultz claimed the All-State Auto Glass heat race victories. Kreider also earned Quick Time honors with a lap of 15.115 seconds.

The Mid-Atlantic Sprint Series returns to action Saturday, Aug. 22, at Bridgeport Speedway.

Brown Blasts to Victory in MASS Opener at Bridgeport

The race featured some of the best RaceSaver IMCA Sprint Cars in the region. The Pilesgrove pilot took the lead at the drop of the green and never, despite heavy lapped traffic and mid-race cautions on the 4/10-mile “Kingdom of Speed.” Troy Betts and Aidan Borden battled for second early, giving Brown the breathing room to build a large gap. Rookie schools IMCA RaceSaver foes at Bloomsburg

(July 25) – Rookie Zack Bealer found a way around Bloomsburg Fair Raceway that nobody else could match and scored his first win in a full-sized sprint car in Sunday’s IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car feature co-sanctioned by the Pennsylvania Sprint Series and the Mid-Atlantic Sprint Series. The former micro-sprint driver, running regularly with MASS, already had amassed two top-five finishes and four top-10’s in just six starts, including a seventh at Bridgeport Speedway in his first RaceSaver start, the season-opening co-sanctioned event for both groups. He announced early Sunday he might be ready to do even better at Bloomsburg, coming from ninth starting position to finish fourth in his heat. BAPS hosts co-sanctioned IMCA RaceSaver show this Saturday

By Frank Buhrman YORK HAVEN, Pa. – The Pennsylvania Sprint Series will be joined by the Mid-Atlantic Sprint Se­ries for co-sanctioned racing at BAPS Motor Speedway in York Haven Saturday, July 6. Racing is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.  This will be the fifth PASS IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car event at BAPS this season. Zach Newlin has won two of the previous four, with single wins for Cale Reigle and John Walp. This is the first of three co-sanctioned events at the track. Ken Duke currently leads PASS point standings, as well as national standings for the division, with Newlin in second. Doug Dodson, Reigle and Devin Adams round out the top five.  The Mid-Atlantic Sprint Series (MASS) races at tracks in eastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware.
