Pearce Earns $1,000 Antioch Modified Victory

ANTIOCH, Calif. (Aug. 1, 2026) — Andrew Pearce of Oakley captured the $1,000-to-win Karl Kustoms IMCA Modified feature Saturday night at Antioch Speedway, earning his first DeVilbiss Racing Chassis Western Region victory of the season.

After winning his heat race, Pearce drew the outside front row starting position and led all 20 laps. Tyler Browne settled into second early before Bobby Hogge worked past him on lap 18. A late caution for Troy Foulger’s flat tire set up a two-lap dash to the finish, but Pearce maintained his advantage on the restart to secure the victory.

Hogge finished second, Foulger held on for third, Browne crossed the stripe fourth, and Jim Pettit II completed the top five.

The race served as a qualifier for the Fast Shafts All-Star Modified Invitational, and Pearce is now eligible to attempt to qualify for the invitational during the Speedway Motors IMCA Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s in September.

Ryland Rallies for Third SportMod Victory of 2026

Fred Ryland, of Brentwood, charged from fourth on the starting grid to win the Karl Kustoms IMCA Northern SportMod feature.

Trevor Clymens took the lead on lap four before Ryland methodically worked his way forward. He slipped underneath Clymens on lap 11 and pulled away over the remaining distance for his third victory of the season while continuing his pursuit of a fourth track championship.

Danny Wagner finished second, Clymens was third, Al Johnson claimed fourth, and Jeff Bentancourt rounded out the top five.

Foulger Holds Off Villanueva in Stock Cars

Troy Foulger, of Oakley, led every lap of the Sunoco IMCA Stock Car feature to collect his third EQ Cylinder Heads Southern Region victory of the season, with all three coming at Antioch Speedway.

Foulger built an early advantage before surviving a pair of cautions and a late overheating issue to hold off Justin Villanueva over the closing laps.

Villanueva settled for second, Fred Ryland finished third, Mike Villanueva came home fourth, and Nick Friend completed the top five.

Ryland Outduels Ryan in Sensational SportMod Photo Finish at Antioch

(Apr. 19, 2025) — Brentwood’s Fred Ryland won the 20-lap Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMod main event in a near photo finish victory over Jason Ryan Jr at Antioch Speedway. This was the 40th career SportMod win for the three-time track champion, but first of 2025. Ryland led the field to the green flag ahead of Al Johnson and Jeff Bentancourt. A yellow flag waved after three laps for Scott Savell. Ryland continued to lead Johnson on the restart with Danny Wagner settling into third.  An inside pass on the front stretch of the sixth lap put Danny Wagner into second with Kenny Shrader settling into third. Antioch checkers fly for Crowell, Ryland

By Don Martin II ANTIOCH, Calif. (May 28, 2022) – Aaron Crowell won the 20-lap Friesen Performance IMCA Modified main event at Antioch Speedway. This was the first win of the season for the 2004 track champion. Crowell jumped into the early lead after the race had been restarted. Trevor Clymens was a close second before surrendering the spot  second to Kellen Chadwick in traffic on lap 10 with Troy Foulger following closely into third.  A blanket three-car battle developed for the lead with Crowell leading Chadwick and Foulger. As Foulger fell back a little bit, in the waning laps, Chadwick took one more shot at Crowell, but Crowell prevailed at the checkered flag. Jasons Ryan, Robles are IMCA aces at Antioch

By Candice Martin ANTIOCH, Calif. (June 15, 2024) – Jason Ryan Jr. and Jason Robles were IMCA feature winners Saturday at Antioch Speedway. Ryan won the 20-lap Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMod feature while Robles collected the checkers in the 15-lapper for IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars. Kelly Campanile set the early pace ahead of Al Johnson in the Northern SportMod show. A low pass in turn four of the second lap put Ryan into second, and Ryan made a similar move a lap later to take the lead. Ryan began to stretch his advantage, leaving Campanile to battle Ken Shrader for the second position. By the 17th lap, Ryan held a half-lap advantage over Campanile, but a yellow flag waved for Haley Gomez. Ryan resumed command on the restart. Shrader tried to get a run on the inside, but Campanile kept her cool on the outside to maintain second.
