Jochim Breaks Through in Dacotah Stock Car Feature

MANDAN, N.D. (July 17, 2026) — Fresh off the Dakota Classic Modified Tour, Chris Tuchscherer and Brennor Grinstead led the field to the green flag in the Sunoco IMCA Stock Car feature at Dacotah Speedway.

Tuchscherer and Grinstead battled fiercely for the lead, swapping positions several times while Andrew Jochim patiently lurked in third. Jochim made it a three-car fight on lap eight, throwing a series of sliders to wrestle away the top spot.

Once out front, Jochim steadily pulled away as point leader Geoff Hellman worked past Grinstead for third and began chasing down Tuchscherer for the runner-up position.

After enduring a frustrating Dakota Classic Modified Tour, luck finally turned in Jochim’s favor as the Harwood driver cruised to his second EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region victory of the season, with his wins coming at two different tracks.

Tuchscherer held off Hellman’s late charge to finish second. Hellman advanced from eighth to third, Matt Dosch was fourth, and Todd Carter rounded out the top five. Scott Yale earned hard charger honors by racing from 18th to 10th.

Keller Charges From 10th to Modified Victory

Darrell Parsons started on the pole of the Karl Kustoms IMCA Modified feature and led the opening two laps before point leader Jeremy Keller stormed through the field.

Starting 10th, Keller took command on lap three and quickly distanced himself from the competition. Not even slower traffic could slow the three-time track champion, as only the top eight finishers remained on the lead lap by the time the checkered flag flew.

The Bismarck driver earned his second Razor Chassis North Central Region victory of the season.

Travis Tooley finished a distant second, Zach Frederick took third, Mark Dahl was fourth, and Scott Gartner completed the top five.

Kinzley is king at Dacotah Speedway

By Becca Pelkey MANDAN, N.D. (July 22, 2022) – After everything fell into place, Quentin Kinzley parked his Friesen Performance IMCA Modified in Dacotah Speedway’s victory lane. The Friday night feature win was his first at Mandan since June of 2020. “2021 was a good year but it seemed like we were always the bridesmaid. We were close so many times,” said the uber consistent Kinzley, who counted four runner-up finishes among 10 top five outings at Dacotah Speedway last season. “It felt good to win. Everything fell into place.” Pole sitter Chris Barros set the pace in the feature but it was rookie Logan Schmitz who led from the green flag. Kinzley repeats at Dacotah Speedway

By Becca Pelkey MANDAN, N.D. (June 14, 2024) – Quentin Kinzley collected his second Friesen Performance IMCA Modified victory in as many weeks Friday at Dacotah Speedway. Jordan Braun and Elijah Puckett started on the front row, however, it was veteran Marlyn Seidler who quickly took the lead when the green flag waved followed by Kinzley. The front pair quickly caught the tail end of the field. As Kinzley tried to pass Seidler for the lead, lapped traffic took his racing line around the ⅜-mile track. As the leaders continued to battle in lapped traffic, it allowed defending track champion Mark Dahl to close in. With five laps to go and with a clear race track, Kinzley slipped into the lead and pulled away. Seidler finished second while Dahl was third. Hellman Hustles to Second Stock Car Victory at Mandan

By Becca Pelkey MANDAN, N.D. (Jun. 13, 2025) — Dylan Herner and Dustin Frank led the field to the green flag in the Sunoco IMCA Stock Car feature at Dacotah Speedway. While Herner and Frank battled side-by-side for the top spot, the action behind them intensified with four- and five-wide racing for third. Geoff Hellman, who started 10th, threaded his way through traffic and muscled into third before seizing the lead on lap six. The fight for second heated up between Scott Gartner and Travis Ulmer, but Ulmer’s charge ended abruptly when he slid off the top of turn four, falling back through the field. Harker Steals Modified Thriller on Final Corner at Eagle

(July 18, 2026) — Oppressive heat pushed the start of Saturday’s Duel in the Dirt at Eagle Raceway back one hour, but the wait proved worthwhile as Shawn Harker used a last-corner slider to win the Karl Kustoms IMCA Modified feature by just 0.04 seconds. Brandon Verbeek led the opening six laps before Nate Thompson moved past him for the top spot on lap seven. Adam Wasserman continued his march toward the front, taking third on lap 10 and then moving around Verbeek for second. Wasserman wrestled the lead away from Thompson with five laps remaining while 12th-starting Harker continued working forward. Smith Scores Dramatic Late Model Victory at Maquoketa

By Jerry Mackey MAQUOKETA, Iowa (July 18, 2026) —The Sunoco IMCA Late Models capped another outstanding night of racing Saturday at Maquoketa Speedway with a thrilling finish. The perfectly prepared racing surface at the Jackson County Fairgrounds quarter-mile allowed competitors to race two and three-wide throughout the evening, producing an exciting 25-lap feature that wasn’t decided until the final few feet. Steve Johnson paced the field early before Dalton Simonsen took over the top spot. Tenth-starting Blaise Lewis worked the extreme low groove to take the lead with 10 laps remaining and appeared headed to victory. A late caution, however, erased Lewis’ advantage and set up a dramatic four-lap sprint to the finish. Lewis hugged the bottom while Dustin Smith powered around the top and Ron Klein repeatedly threw sliders at the leaders.
