DAVENPORT, Iowa (July 17, 2026) — Six Sunoco IMCA Late Model races have produced six different winners at Davenport Speedway this season, and Friday night’s feature continued the trend.
Their feature also produced one of the night’s best races, as Jesse Bodin jumped to an early lead and paced the opening 10 laps before Nathan Balensiefen took command on lap 11.
Twelfth-starting Travis Denning methodically worked through the field, grabbing the lead with eight laps remaining and staying there to the checkered flag.
The Sterling, Illinois, driver earned his sixth IMCA Late Model victory of the season and first away from East Moline Speedway in 2026.
Balensiefen finished second, Mitch Morris was third, Logan Veloz advanced from 10th to fourth, and Jayden Johnson completed the top five.
Diercks Uses Unconventional Line for Modified Victory
Spencer Diercks became the night’s only repeat winner in the Karl Kustoms IMCA Modifieds.
Starting 10th, Diercks raced into the lead on lap 10 using an unusual line around the speedway, running the cushion in turns one and two before working the middle groove in turns three and four.
The Davenport driver drove away to a four-second victory for his 12th Razor Chassis North Central Region win of the season and third at Davenport Speedway.
Brandon Durbin finished second, Andrew Hamburg was third, Logan Veloz charged from 15th to fourth, and Jace Eckrich advanced from 12th to complete the top five. Charlie Mohr also turned in a strong drive from 17th to sixth.
Chapman Scores First Davenport SportMod Victory of Season
Point leader Ben Chapman finally broke through for his first Davenport Speedway victory of the season in the Karl Kustoms IMCA Northern SportMods.
Chapman started 10th and didn’t reach the lead until three laps remained before surviving a green-white-checkered finish to secure the victory.
The Clarence driver earned his second victory of the season, with his wins coming at two different tracks.
Josh Starr produced one of the night’s biggest charges, storming from 18th to second. Dakota Cole led the opening 12 laps before settling for third, Bryson Eckrich raced from 16th to fourth, and Cole Stichter rounded out the top five.
Brandies Charges Late for Stock Car Win
Andrew Burk led the opening 13 laps of the Sunoco IMCA Stock Car feature before David Brandies sliced through the field from seventh to take command over the closing circuits.
The Wilton driver earned his fifth EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region victory of the season and first at Davenport Speedway.
Burk held on for second, Jordan Miles finished third, Keegan Wells was fourth, and Jacob Ellithorpe advanced from ninth to complete the top five.
Butt Holds Off Miles in Hobby Stock Feature
Carson Butt grabbed the early lead in the caution-filled Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stock feature and turned back a late charge from Karter Miles to seal the victory.
The Preston driver collected his third B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region victory of the season, with each of his wins coming at a different track.
Miles finished second, Preston McDonald took third, Randy LaMar finished fourth, and Shawn Pappas completed the top five. Chris Peterson advanced from 13th to sixth, while Bruce Noles raced from 15th to seventh.
