Butt Edges Wroten in Photo Finish at Maquoketa

MAQUOKETA, Iowa (June 27, 2026) — Carson Butt won one of the closest finishes of the season Saturday night at Maquoketa Speedway, edging Leah Wroten by just .024 seconds in a thrilling Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stock feature.

A stout field of 30 Hobby Stocks signed in, and officials elected to start the entire field in the main event. Racing remained remarkably clean with only a pair of minor cautions as competitors raced three- and four-wide throughout the feature.

Wroten battled to the front and led several circuits before the 15-year-old Butt mounted a late charge from the 10th starting position. The pair took the white flag virtually side by side, with Butt diving to the extreme inside exiting turn four to nip Wroten at the finish line. The Preston driver became the newest winner in the B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region.

Kile Vohringer finished third while Tucker Richardson advanced from ninth to fourth. Kyle Jared completed the top five after charging from 16th, and Jaice Tuttle rallied from 20th to seventh.

Diercks Drives Away for Eighth Modified Regional Victory of ‘26

Spencer Diercks broke free from a tight lead pack midway through the Karl Kustoms IMCA Modified feature and drove away for his eighth Razor Chassis North Central Region victory of the season and his second at Maquoketa in 2026.

Starting fourth, the Davenport driver utilized the middle groove before moving to the cushion to seal the win.

Shane Paris advanced from seventh to finish second, while Jed Freiburger charged from 10th to third. Eric Barnes and Wes Digman completed the top five, and Ethan Krall rallied from 16th to seventh.

Jordan Miles Charges to Stock Car Win

Jordan Miles raced from eighth to the front of the Sunoco IMCA Stock Car field to earn his third EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region victory of the season and his first win of the year at Maquoketa.

Casey Shelliam led the early laps before the Miles family entered the picture. Jordan worked past both his father, Jerry Miles, and the race leader before holding off a late charge from Gage Neal.

Neal finished second after starting 10th, while Jarrett Franzen charged from 15th to third. Kodey Miles advanced from ninth to fourth, and Greg Gill rounded out the top five.

Hicks Prevails in SportMod Thriller

Jordan Hicks took command from Jacob Arp in the closing laps and raced to his third Karl Kustoms IMCA Northern SportMod victory of the season, with each win coming at a different track.

Arp finished second while Jarrett Franzen advanced from ninth to third. Finn Oppenheimer climbed from 11th to fourth, and Josh Banes rounded out the top five after starting 10th.
