Dettman Breaks Through for First Hobby Stock Victory at El Paso County Raceway

CALHAN, Colo. (May 16, 2026) — Jesse Dettman raced from the sixth starting position to earn his first B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region victory of the season in the Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stock feature at El Paso County Raceway.

Dettman charged to the front in the closing stages to secure the win over Calhan’s Adam Bearman. Colorado Springs racer Stacee Payne completed the podium in third while Melanie Robinson and Austin Sikes rounded out the top five.

Daniel Payne put together a dominant performance in the Karl Kustoms IMCA Northern SportMod feature, leading all the way from the pole in the No. 43 machine.

The Calhan driver collected his second victory of the season at ECRP in convincing fashion. Travis Palmer crossed the line second while Andrew Fisher completed the top three in the compact but competitive field.

Falcon’s Briana Worthington delivered an impressive drive in the Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compact feature, charging from fifth to score her first victory of the season.

James Embree finished second while Sean Frank completed the podium in third. Nathaniel Harris was fourth and Melanie Robinson rounded out the top five.

The Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars closed out the night with Peyton’s Brian Lessig driving from the fourth starting spot to capture his first EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region victory of the season.

Brian Lessig Jr. followed closely behind in second to complete the family’s 1-2 finish. Hunter Harvey was third while Mike Puckett, Joey Riese, and Steve Livingston completed the finishing order.

Welsh Wires SportMod Field at El Paso County

Despite a stout field, Welsh led every lap to collect his first win of the season. It was also the first win of 2025 for the Colorado Springs driver. Coming from ninth, Scott Clay carved his way through traffic to finish second, followed by Barry Halley in third. Lessig Family Sweeps Stock Cars at El Paso County; Brian Sr. Edges O’Lear by Three Points for Title

(Aug. 16, 2025) — On championship night at El Paso County Raceway, the Sunoco IMCA Stock Car main event turned into a family affair as Peyton’s Brian Lessig powered to victory, followed by his son, Brian Lessig Jr. of Colorado Springs, in second. Local driver Ryan O’Lear of Calhan crossed in third to complete the podium. (May 3, 2025) — A strong field of 12 drivers packed the pits of El Paso County Raceway for the Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMod division, and when the dust settled in the feature, it was Scott Clay of Colorado Springs parking his machine in victory lane. Starting from the pole, Clay led wire-to-wire, fending off heavy pressure in the closing laps to seal the win. His heat win earlier in the evening set the tone for a dominant performance. Fett Sweeps Stock Cars and Modifieds at Kossuth County

By Greg Grabinoski ALGONA, Iowa (May 14, 2026) — Colby Fett put together a dominant night Thursday at Kossuth County Speedway, sweeping both the Sunoco IMCA Stock Car and Karl Kustoms IMCA Modified features. In the 20-lap Stock Car feature, Fett grabbed the early lead before an early caution on lap two slowed the field. Another yellow on lap eight was the only thing delaying the Algona driver’s trip to victory lane as he collected his first EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region win of the season. Maynard Sweeps Weekend IMCA Modified Action at The Hill and Woodhull

(May 16, 2026) — Wyalusing, Pennsylvania driver Jake Maynard put together a perfect opening weekend, scoring a pair of Karl Kustoms IMCA Modified victories Friday at The Hill Speedway and Saturday at Woodhull Raceway to collect two early season wins in the Close Racing Supply Eastern Region. Friday night at The Hill Speedway, Maynard overcame adversity before the racing even began. After breaking a driveshaft during hot laps, Maynard and his crew hurriedly installed a loaner shaft from Keith Lamphere’s No. 98K team to make the heat race. Starting third, Maynard drove to the front to score the heat race win alongside cousin Dalton Maynard, who captured the evening’s other heat race. Birkhofer Scores First Late Model Win of Season at Davenport

By Mike McGuire DAVENPORT, Iowa (May 15, 2026) — Beautiful weather and fast racecars made for an enjoyable evening Friday at Davenport Speedway. Cruz Birkhofer dominated the Sunoco IMCA Late Models. The Muscatine driver started seventh in the feature and did not see the lead until lap 16. Once out front, Birkhofer drove away from the field to score his first win of the season by more than two seconds. Andy Nezworski charged from 10th to finish second. Early race leader Logan Veloz held on for third while Nathan Balensiefen and Chuck Hanna rounded out the top five. Nezworski and Veloz were Late Model heat winners. Veloz Victorious in Modifieds Logan Veloz was not to be denied in the Karl Kustoms IMCA Modifieds.
