EAGLE, Neb. (May 9, 2026) — The most electrifying run of the night at Eagle Raceway came in the Karl Kustoms IMCA Northern SportMods, where Cole Wayman stormed from 16th to score a dramatic victory.
After an early multi-car incident shuffled the field, the Lincoln driver methodically worked his way forward, cracking the top five before charging into second with seven laps remaining. He completed the pass for the lead with four to go and never looked back.
Gary Saathoff held on for second, while Mary Hahn finished third. Jacob Swanson advanced from 10th to fourth, and Matt Andrews completed the top five.
Wayman, the defending track champion, picked up his fourth win of the season and second at Eagle Raceway in 2026.
The RaceSaver IMCA Sprint Cars delivered one of the most intense finishes of the night.
Lincoln’s Shayle Bade led the charge and held off heavy pressure from Tyler Drueke in the closing laps of a feature that saw multiple flips and stoppages. Despite the chaos, the Lady Eagle racer stayed composed on the high side to secure her first win of the season.
Drueke advanced from eighth to finish second, while Adam Gullion charged from ninth to third. Tyler Hendrickson finished fourth, and Joey Danley made an impressive run from 11th to round out the top five.
In the Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars, Dillon Richards put together a strong drive to earn his first EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region win of the season.
The Beatrice racer advanced from 12th to take control on lap seven and held steady through multiple cautions to capture the victory. Mason Richards followed him across the line in second after starting 18th, while Nate Thompson charged from 19th to finish third. Tommy Etherton and Tyler Jackson completed the top five.
The IMCA Hobby Stocks wrapped up the night with a competitive feature that ended in a green-white-checkered finish.
Neil Pella, of Adams, led throughout and held off late challenges to score his second straight win of the season in the B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region, with both victories coming at Eagle Raceway. Dan Markham surged to second late, followed by Trenton Dowty in third. Michael Wade finished fourth, and Colin Hein advanced from 10th to complete the top five.
The Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds saw a breakthrough moment for a young driver.
Omaha’s 17-year-old Cameron Thompson led from the outset and never faltered, cruising to his first win of the season in the Jet Racing Central Region. Nate Thompson finished second to complete a Thompson family one-two finish, while Mike Densberger came home third. Adam Wasserman advanced from 12th to fourth, and Bob Zoubek rounded out the top five.
The night opened with a frightening moment in the IMCA Stock Cars, as Jeff Watts went airborne in a barrel roll on the opening lap. Fortunately, he was not injured.
