Weepie Wheels to Breakthrough CJ Speedway Hobby Stock Victory

COLUMBUS JUNCTION, Iowa (May 1, 2026) — Dalton Weepie was in action for the second week in a row in the Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stocks, and when the checkered flag fell, the youngster made his first-ever trip to CJ Speedway victory lane. The Dunkerton native earned his first win of the year in the B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region with a hard-fought victory ahead of Daniel Wauters and Randy Lamar. Austin Stalder was fourth, and Ryan Havel finished fifth.

Sigourney’s Nathan Wood once again proved he will be a man to be reckoned with at CJ Speedway in 2026. Wood scored his second consecutive Sunoco IMCA Stock Car feature win on Friday night, giving him two wins in the EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region this season. Norman Bean ran a strong race to finish second ahead of Kirk Kinsley. Austin O’Donnell was fourth at the line, followed by Justin Becker.

A first-time CJ winner in the Karl Kustoms IMCA Northern SportMods was Justin Schroeder, who made the long tow from Low Moor. Schroeder rode the top side to his first win of the year ahead of Tyler Heckart and last week’s winner Cole VanDerwal. Justin Heuer was fourth, and Joel Payne completed the top five.

The Karl Kustoms IMCA Modifieds saw Eldon’s Blaine Bryant take top honors for his first-ever CJ Speedway win and his first victory of the year in the Razor Chassis North Central Region. Bryant raced to the win ahead of defending track champion Kurt Kile. Spencer Diercks wound up third, followed by Adam Shelman and Charlie Mohr.

CJ Speedway drivers earn IMCA national honors

By Jerry Mackey COLUMBUS JUNCTION, Iowa (Nov. 3, 2023) – CJ Speedway provided great racing throughout the 2023 season and the primary reason that the racing was so good was because of the caliber of the competition each and every Friday night. Columbus Junction regular Tucker Richardson won national and Northern Region Rookie of the Year in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby division. Richardson recently turned 17 and is a junior at Winfield Mount Union High School. He raced a Hobby Stock after running two seasons in the mini hauler division (small trucks). Richardson comes from a racing family as he competes weekly with his uncle Shane Richardson and great uncles John and Chuck, who have both raced many laps at CJ Speedway. CJ checkers fly for McDaniel, Roth

By Jerry Mackey COLUMBUS JUNCTION, Iowa (July 22, 2022) – Friday night racing action at the CJ Speedway saw two more drivers add their names to the first time winners list in 2022 at the Louisa County Fairgrounds oval. Jason McDaniel has raced on and off at CJ Speedway but had not won a race on the 4/10th mile dirt track since the 2018 season. McDaniel led the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature flag to flag en route to the win. The feature went under caution late and the restart saw the top five positions shuffled as Kirk Kinsley took advantage of the restart and raced into second and was closing in on McDaniel as the checkers waved. Keltner returns to CJ Speedway as new promoter

COLUMBUS JUNCTION, Iowa (Jan. 30, 2024) – The track where Dan Keltner started his IMCA racing career is the same track he’ll start his promotional career. Keltner takes charge at CJ Speedway in Columbus Junction, where Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods will run on Friday nights. “Columbus Junction is my home track,” said Keltner, from nearby Grandview. “It’s where I went to my first race and it’s where I started racing. It went through an incredible transformation under (former promoter) Larry Richardson. New Drivers Added to B&B Racing Chassis All-Star Stock Car Invitational Eligibility List Following April Qualifiers

By Ben Deatherage VINTON, Iowa (Apr. 30, 2026) — More drivers were added to the Sunoco IMCA Stock Car eligibility list for the B&B Racing Chassis All-Star Stock Car Invitational following April competition, with additional wins by drivers already eligible strengthening an already deep field. Drivers become eligible by winning IMCA-sanctioned events paying $1,000 or more to win, earning the opportunity to attempt to qualify for the invitational, held during the Speedway Motors IMCA Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s in September at Boone Speedway. Winners of events paying $5,000 or more are guaranteed starting positions in the invitational. Jordan Grabouski earned eligibility with his April 18 victory in the Icebreaker Challenge finale at Eagle Raceway, a qualifier held in the EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region. Kyle Vanover, who was already on the eligibility list following his Spring Nationals win at Beatrice Speedway in March, added another qualifier qin with his April 17 Icebreaker opening night triumph at Eagle.
