Reed Scores First 2026 Win After Late-Race Shakeup at Grays Harbor

ELMA, Wash. (Apr. 25, 2026) — Brenton Schnitzer took the early lead with Devon Reed close behind in the Karl Kustoms IMCA Modified feature. Disaster struck on lap two when contact mid-pack sent Scott Miller spinning hard into the outside wall. Craig Moore slowed, and Jim Ragsdale collided with him, sending Moore into the infield. The incident ended the night for Miller and Ragsdale, among others, but Moore was able to keep moving before the red flag and retained his position.

On the restart, Schnitzer continued to lead while a strong battle developed behind him. Zane Miner ran second, with Reed, Moore, and John Higgenbottom racing hard for fourth and fifth over several laps. A caution for debris slowed the field, and on the restart Reed worked past Miner for second.

A few laps later, the race took another turn when Schnitzer spun in turns three and four, sending him to the back and handing the lead to Reed. Moore mounted a challenge, but Reed used the high side to maintain momentum and keep the lead. A spin by Rodger Perry brought out one more caution, setting up a final restart.

Reed held on over the closing laps to earn his second career Grays Harbor Raceway victory and his first win of the season in the DeVilbiss Racing Chassis Western Region for the Woodland driver. Zane Miner got around Moore late to finish second, with Moore third and earning hard charger honors. Jake Sorenson was fourth, and Schnitzer rebounded to finish fifth.

Heat race wins earlier in the evening went to Schnitzer, Reed, and Miner.

Moore dominates Grays Harbor finale

(Sept. 21, 2024) – Craig Moore started from fourth place in Saturday’s Friesen Performance IMCA Modified main event at Grays Harbor Raceway and the only time he didn’t lead was the first lap. Once he took the lead, the Seabeck veteran built a commanding advantage, winning a main event for the second time this year at the Grays Harbor Fairgrounds 3/8-mile oval. Ryen Haney and Josh Muller engaged in a thrilling battle on the contest’s opening circuit, with Haney leading lap one. Determined to break away from the pack, Haney found himself in Moore’s sights. Moore, relentless in his pursuit, overtook Haney at the flag stand on the second lap. From there, Moore gave it full steam and sail and took off from his nearest opponent. Miner Controls Every Lap for First Modified Win of 2025 at Elma

(May 3, 2025) — Zane Miner from Graham led every lap of Saturday’s Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature at Grays Harbor Raceway to earn his first win of the 2025 season in the Shaw Race Cars Western Region. Miner took a massive lead early on before a lap 7 caution briefly erased his advantage. Another stoppage on lap 9 reset the field again, but he executed strong restarts each time to maintain control. Behind him, Brenton Schnitzer and Tyson Blood battled fiercely for the runner-up spot in the final ten laps, with Schnitzer ultimately holding off Blood, who charged from deep in the field. Miner’s pace was tested again in lapped traffic with five laps to go, but a final caution with two laps remaining gave him a clean restart. Wild West Modified Shootout returns, IMCA.TV to broadcast Aug. 6-14 series

By Ben Deatherage LEBANON, Ore. – After not being on the schedule in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Wild West IMCA Modified Shootout is back. Eight races will be run in nights at four race tracks in the Pacific Northwest. Not only will IMCA Modifieds be in attendance but the Karl Kustoms IMCA Northern Sport Mods will accompany the tour in the first seven legs. Modified feature winners earn $1,000 and become eligible to qualify for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational. Lebanon’s Willamette Speedway will kick the whole party off on Friday, Aug. 6 and the tour will remain there for three straight nights. Monday, Aug. 9, and Tuesday, Aug. 10 will be reserved for Cottage Grove Speedway. Olson Outduels Oliver in Benton County Stock Car Opener

By Christine Rublack Vinton, Iowa (Apr. 26, 2026) — A stellar field of cars put on a show at The Bullring for opening night at Benton County Speedway as Kyle Olson held off a hard-charging John Oliver Jr. to win the Sunoco IMCA Stock Car feature. Olson and Oliver quickly distanced themselves from the field. Kevin Rose moved into third as the leaders approached lapped traffic, while Johnathon Logue worked into fourth as the laps wound down. Olson took the checkers for his first win of the season in the EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region, followed by Oliver, Logue, Rose, and Nathan Ballard. Whiteaker Wins a Wild One at 105 with STIMS Series

Nineteen Karl Kustoms IMCA Modifieds signed in for the $1,000-to-win, 20-lap feature. It was the first visit for several drivers and the first in a while for the rest. Sproul Sweeps Modifieds at WaKeeney’s Christmas City Clash

(Apr. 25, 2026) — Dakota Sproul completed a dominant weekend sweep in the Karl Kustoms IMCA Modifieds, leading the way in Saturday’s twenty-lap feature at WaKeeney Speedway’s Christmas City Clash. Starting alongside Dalton Murphy on the front row, Sproul quickly jumped to the early advantage and remained in control while Tanner Black, Clay Money, and Daniel Gottschalk all applied pressure throughout the event. A repeat of Friday’s feature with roles reversed developed as Sproul worked through lapped traffic with second place closing in. After using a last-lap pass to win Friday night, Sproul held off Money on Saturday to secure his first two wins of 2026 in the Jet Racing Central Region, a strong rebound after not finishing either night of the Sunflower Classic at RPM Speedway in Hays.
