Bellm Captures First Stock Car Win of ’26 at El Paso County Opener

CALHAN, CO (Apr. 4, 2026) — The 2026 season roared to life at El Paso County Raceway with a full night of racing action across four Speedway Motors IMCA Weekly divisions, delivering competitive battles and standout performances across the board.

Starting off the night, Layne Bellm of Broomfield dominated the Sunoco IMCA Stock Car feature, leading all laps from the pole to earn the win—her first in the EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region. Brian Lessig Jr. crossed the line in second, followed by Brian Lessig Sr. in third. Phil Reid and Hunter Harvey rounded out the top five.

The night’s largest field belonged to the Karl Kustoms IMCA Northern SportMods, where North Dakota’s Stan Tomlinson stole the show. Starting third, Tomlinson worked his way to the front to claim the win. Travis Palmer made an impressive run from seventh to finish second, with Scott Clay rounding out the podium. Hard chargers David Alvarez and James Jarnot completed the top five after starting deep in the field.

In Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stock action, Brayson Siegle of Pueblo powered to victory after starting second, earning his first win of the current campaign in the B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region. Wade Petty finished runner-up, while pole-sitter Stacee Payne settled for third after leading early laps.

In the Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compact division, James Embree led from the drop of the green to secure the victory. Sean Frank and Nathaniel Harris followed in second and third, respectively, with Johnny Adams and Melanie Robinson completing the top five.

El Paso County Raceway Opens Season April 4 With IMCA Action

(Apr. 3, 2026) — Engines fire and dirt flies Saturday, April 4 as El Paso County Raceway opens its 2026 season with a full night of racing featuring four Speedway Motors IMCA Weekly divisions, live entertainment, and family-friendly fun. El Paso County Raceway will host 10 IMCA race nights this season, featuring Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars, Karl Kustoms IMCA Northern SportMods, Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stocks, and Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts. Events will be held on a bi-weekly schedule from April through September. Young rookies rule El Paso County Raceway

By Anna Spinuzzi CALHAN, Colo. (May 8) – Last Saturday was a night full of action-packed IMCA dirt racing and a night full of firsts at El Paso County Raceway. After a brief rain delay fans were treated to a night full of upsets when four IMCA racing divisions saw first-time track winners, including three young first-time feature winners, which was a first for the track itself.  In a night full of surprises, the night’s youngest winner was 14-year-old Hunter Smith in his 10th career start as he drove away with the checkered flag in the competitive IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock division. Smith is making an impressive run at being the 2021 rookie of the year with 50 shows planned. Bellm Blazes to El Paso County Stock Car Victory

(Jun. 20, 2025) — In the main event at El Paso County Raceway, featuring the Colorado Alliance Tour IMCA Stock Cars, Layne Bellm of Broomfield showed exactly why she’s a driver to watch. Bellm led from the pole and never looked back, fending off D.J. Banks lap after lap to earn her second win of the season—and her first in the EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region. Bellm dominated the feature and picked up valuable points in the CAT Tour. Ryan O’Lear moved up into second after Banks dropped out with a flat tire, while Peyton’s Brian Lessig rounded out the podium with a solid third-place finish.
