VINTON, Iowa (May 28, 2026) — May competition added more drivers to the Karl Kustoms IMCA Modified eligibility list for the Fast Shafts All-Star Modified Invitational, while several already eligible drivers continued to build on their season win totals. With spring weather improving and tracks across the country opening their gates for the 2026 season, a busy May schedule produced qualifying events from coast to coast across all five IMCA Modified regions.
Drivers become eligible by winning IMCA-sanctioned events paying $1,000 or more to win, earning the opportunity to attempt to qualify for the invitational, held during the Speedway Motors IMCA Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s in September at Boone Speedway. invitational.
In the Jet Racing Central Region, Jordan Grabouski added another qualifying victory to his season total with a win on May 14 at Eagle Raceway during the High Bank Heist.
Already eligible drivers in the Razor Chassis North Central Region continued to add to their totals in May. Cole Czarneski won May 9 at 141 Speedway, while Johnny Whitman scored another qualifying victory at the same track on May 2.
Drivers earning their first qualifying victories of the season in the North Central Region included Spencer Diercks, who won April 28 at Independence Motor Speedway, Cayden Carter with his April 29 victory at Stuart Speedway during the Dynamic Drivelines Dirt Duel, Braden Stoner on May 8 at Salt City Racing, Benji LaCrosse during the C.J. Joski Memorial at 141 Speedway on May 16, Russ Reinwald at 141 Speedway on May 23, Dylon Waldvogel at Shawano Speedway later that same night, Tom Berry Jr. during the Memorial Weekend Rumble at Benton County Speedway on May 24, Todd Shute at Stuart Speedway later that evening, and Nick Meyer on May 27 at Buena Vista Raceway.
The GRT Race Cars South Central Region saw Steven Whiteaker Jr. continue his strong season with another qualifying victory on May 16 at I-37 Speedway during Southern Touring IMCA Modified Series competition.
In the DeVilbiss Racing Chassis Western Region, Grey Ferrando became a four-time qualifier winner with victories on May 2 and May 9 at Southern Oregon Speedway, May 15 at the Douglas County Dirtrack, and May 23 at Grays Harbor Raceway during the opening night of the West Coast Modified Clash. Cole Logan added a pair of wins at Skagit Speedway on May 2 and 9, while Bricen James, already eligible entering the month, captured the West Coast Modified Clash finale at Grays Harbor Raceway on May 24.
Additional new Western Region qualifiers included Luke Silber at Central Arizona Raceway on May 2, Dakota Sproul at Salina Speedway the same night, Tyson Blood at Skagit Speedway on April 25, Tyler Bannister during the Kris Mancebo Memorial at Thunderbowl Raceway on May 15, Nick Trenchard at Southern Oregon Speedway on May 16, and Craig Cassell during the Spring Challenge at Sunset Speedway Park on May 24.
In the Close Racing Supply Eastern Region, Oliver Hilliard earned eligibility with a May 22 win at Mt. Pleasant Speedway. Additional first-time Eastern Region qualifiers included Casey Smith during the Elsie Curtis Memorial at I-96 Speedway on May 8, Myron DeYoung at Crystal Motor Speedway on May 16, and Collin Thirlby at Merritt Speedway later that same night.
A busy June schedule awaits across all five regions.
In the Razor Chassis North Central Region, Iowa opens the month with the IMCA Summer Nationals at Independence Motor Speedway on June 2 and 3, followed by the Topless Dirt 30 at Marshalltown Speedway on June 5 and Boone Speedway on June 6. Additional Hawkeye State qualifiers include Stuart Speedway’s Prelude to the Clash on June 10, Hancock County Speedway on June 12 and June 26, Boone Speedway’s Harris Clash on June 23, and Clay County Fair Speedway on June 29.
Wisconsin’s 141 Speedway hosts qualifiers on June 6, June 13 during Clash at the Creek, June 20, and June 27, while Shawano Speedway hosts the Summer Special on June 19 and 20. Minnesota’s Murray County Speedway races June 19, while Norman County Raceway hosts the Bison Battle on June 26. North Dakota’s Jamestown Speedway hosts the Don Gumke Memorial on June 6. South Dakota’s Park Jefferson Speedway hosts the Dave Riley Memorial on June 14 before hosting the Midwest Madness Tour on June 30.
In the Jet Racing Central Region, Dodge City Raceway Park in Kansas hosts qualifiers on June 19 and 20, while Worthington Speedway in Nebraska hosts the Midwest Madness Tour opener on June 28.
The GRT Race Cars South Central Region includes Southern Touring IMCA Modified Series events at Heart O’ Texas Speedway on June 12 and Cotton Bowl Speedway on June 13. Grayson County Speedway in Texas hosts a regional qualifier on June 20, while Kennedale Speedway Park hosts on June 27.
In the DeVilbiss Racing Chassis Western Region, Utah’s Diamond Mountain Speedway hosts qualifiers June 5 and 6. Washington’s Skagit Speedway races June 13, while Sunset Speedway Park hosts IMCA Wild West Speedweek on June 13. Wild West Speedweek continues at River City Speedway on June 14, Cottage Grove Speedway on June 15 and 16, Coos Bay Speedway on June 17 and 18, Douglas County Dirtrack on June 19, and Southern Oregon Speedway on June 20.
Additional Western Region specials include the McGowan Memorial at Bakersfield Speedway and MODtana Madness at Gallatin Speedway on June 27, along with the Soares Memorial at Antioch Speedway the same night. Watsonville Speedway hosts on June 26, while Sheridan Speedway races June 15.
In the Close Racing Supply Eastern Region, Crystal Motor Speedway in Michigan hosts qualifiers on June 6, 13, 18, 19, 20, and 27. Winston Speedway hosts on June 5.
Events must pay a minimum of $1,000 to win and be submitted to IMCA to be recognized as official qualifiers. Tracks or promoters who believe an event has been omitted can contact the IMCA Home Office at raceimca@imca.com.
