Maquoketa Speedway hosts All Star Night this Saturday

MAQUOKETA, Iowa (April 9, 2024) – Maquoketa Speedway is set to host a full day of festivities on Saturday, April 13.

The quarter-mile dirt track located on the Jackson County Fairgrounds on the east edge of Maquoketa will begin a very busy day with a race car show beginning at noon. Fans will have the opportunity to meet and greet drivers and see the cars up close.

The Maquoketa Speedway Kids Club will host an Easter Egg Hunt for kids under the age of 12 beginning at 1 p.m. More than 500 eggs will be distributed to the kids, eggs will have prizes and candy packed into the eggs. The car show will end at 2 p.m. and the attention will then turn to the track. 

Pit gates will open at 2 p.m. and the hot laps for the All Star Night presented by Darkside Promotions will get underway at 5:30 p.m. Racing in seven divisions will highlight the racing program. Four classes of cars, Modifieds, Stock Cars, Northern SportMods and Hobby Stocks, will be racing under the IMCA sanction which will allow drivers to race for state, regional and national points.

Darkside Promotions will be paying an expanded purse in all classes and a large field of competitors will be expected for this special event. 

Saturday, April 20 will be the Maquoketa Speedway IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing season opener. IMCA sanctioned racing will be held in the Late Model, Modified, Stock Car, Northern SportMod and Hobby Stock divisions.

Duhme dominates IMCA Modifieds at Maquoketa

By Jerry Mackey MAQUOKETA, Iowa (May 27, 2023) – The Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature belonged to Ryan Duhme Saturday night at Maquoketa Speedway. Duhme took over the top spot from Brandon Jewell and went on to record the 20-lap feature win. Jason Schueller followed Jewell across the finish line in third.  Jerry Miles drove to the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature win, taking over the top spot following an incident on the 10th lap that saw the two front runners sail off of turn two and forced to restart from the rear. Miles took over the race lead and took the checkers ahead of Justin Kay and Jacob Ellithorpe.  The Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods continue to provide thrilling racing at the Maquoketa Speedway. Maquoketa Speedway opening with All Star Night

By Jerry Mackey  MAQUOKETA, Iowa (April 11, 2023) – The Maquoketa Speedway is set to host the first race of the 2023 season which will be All Star Night. Darkside Promotions (Tim Current and Ryan Duhme) will be working in conjunction with the Jackson County Fair Board and track manager Bret Sieverstein to present a special event to kick off the new season. Racing will include greatly enhanced purses for all classes in competition on the very quick ¼-mile dirt track, located on the Jackson County Fairgrounds in Maquoketa, on Saturday, April 15.  Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds race for $1,000 to win and Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational qualifying eligibility. Aikey’s new ride passes Deery Series test, Maquoketa checkers are tour career 69th

By Rob Hinckley  MAQUOKETA, Iowa (June 18) – As Jeff Aikey drove the four-wide parade lap, he knew his car would be competitive. The 56-year old veteran put his fairly new ride to the test early in Tuesday evening’s 50-lap Deery Brothers Summer Series feature at Maquoketa Speedway. It passed the test with flying colors as he flew to the $2,000 IMCA Late Model tour victory.  “I could go anywhere on this track,” the all-time Deery Brothers feature win leader said in victory circle after his 69th career win. “The track was prepared great.” Aikey rolled off third and had the point by lap four, passing pole starter Andy Eckrich.
