ARDMORE, Okla. (April 13, 2022) – All-stars in three IMCA divisions see action each night of the May 25-29 All Star Shootout.  Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds run for $1,000 to win, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Smiley’s Racing Products Southern SportMods both for $750 to win beginning with opening night Wednesday, May 25 at Southern Oklahoma Speedway in Ardmore. The Shootout is then Texas-bound for shows Thursday, May 26 at Grayson County Speedway in Bells; Friday, May 27 at Boyd Raceway; Saturday, May 28 at Kennedale Speedway Park; and Sunday, May 29 at Heart O’ Texas Speedway in Waco.  All five race programs will be broadcast by IMCA.TV. WACO, Texas (March 16) – After getting the lead back a second time, J.P. Dowell held off Justin McCoy for the $1,000 IMCA Modified feature win at Heart O’ Texas Speedway’s Jack Bagby Memo­rial. Making his first start of the season in a car borrowed from Pat McGuire, Dowell drew the pole start. McCoy started outside front row and got ahead early and then again with two circuits left in the 20-lapper. “I’ve won this event before and this year’s race played out in my favor. It didn’t hurt starting on the pole,” Dowell said. “I chased Justin past midway before I could pass him back the first time. The second time was do or die. WACO, Texas (Oct. 15, 2022) – After he consulted Google Maps to decide on gear for the weekend, Dillon Raffurty didn’t need any help finding the fastest way around Heart O’ Texas Speedway.  Raffurty’s first visit to the Waco speedplant paid off with the $10,000 checkers at the first annual Texas Mod Lite Nationals. “It was a pretty good weekend,” understated Raffurty, who had collected 30 wins in defending his IMCA STARS Mod Lite national championship this season. “It was exciting. I couldn’t have asked for much more.”  The Kansas City, Mo., star won both heat races and the Joe Butler Jr. Invitational, and finished fourth in the qualifying feature on Friday night. Satisfied with his setup, Raffurty eschewed hot laps before Saturday’s main event.
