Seven more score eligibility for Fast Shafts Invitational

BOONE, Iowa – IMCA drivers and fans are asked to Nominate A Warrior as an honorary starter for each of the three last-chance Modified features on Saturday, Sept. 7 during the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s.  Current or former service members are eligible and letters or emails of nomination should be 500 words or less and tell about the nominee and their service to our country.  Nominations should be directed to Marketing Director Kevin Yoder at the IMCA home office or kyoder@imca.com. “We enjoy this opportunity to honor those who have or are currently serving our country in the armed forces,” Yoder said. “Super Nationals is our biggest event and it is a privilege for us to recognize them on championship day at Boone Speedway.” All three honorary starters will be recognized that afternoon when officials from Casey’s General Store and IMCA present a check to Hope For The Warriors.

By Joyce Eisele BOONE, Iowa (May 14, 2022) – It was week number three of the IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing season at Boone Speedway on Saturday night and there were new winners for 2022 in all divisions.  Tim Ward captured his first Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature. Troy Jerovetz won in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Jake Sachau took the checkers in the Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods.  Eric Knutson visited victory lane for the first time this season in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock division and it was Bryan Zehm taking his first win of the year in IMCA STARS Mod Lite action. In the STARS Mod Lite 15-lap feature, Zehm caught early leader Ben George and took over the top spot at lap six, never to look back. Lapped traffic was no issue for Zehm as he held the pack at bay to capture the win. Joel Huggins, who had won the two previous races, started 10th and finished as the runner-up. Derrick Knutsen was third. BOONE, Iowa – IMCA Modified drivers have two chances to win $1,000 at Saturday’s Watermelon Classic at Boone Speedway. Along with the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot-qualifying feature on Aug. 1, there’s $1,000 at stake in the 12-car P1 Promotions Modified Challenge. That field will be determined by group time trials and passing points, with the winner receiving a unique trophy from Legends Custom Decals, the high point driver receiving a wrap from Capital and the fast time driver getting a drive shaft from Dynamic Drivelines. IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars race for $1,000 to win their feature, with IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods both racing for $500 to win.  The event is draw/redraw, heat winners get watermelons and different position bonuses and incentives will be given. Hot laps are at 6 p.m. and racing starts at 7 p.m. Spectator admission is $20 for adults, $5 for students ages 13-17 and free for kids ages 12 and under.  The Watermelon Classic will be broadcast by IMCA.TV.
