Hogge opens 64th Antioch season with IMCA Modified checkers

(April 29, 2023) – Defending track champion Nick DeCarlo kicked off the Friesen Performance IMCA Modified season with the 20-lap main event win Saturday night at Antioch Speedway. Troy Foulger set the early pace ahead of Andrew Pearce. However, Buddy Kniss and Pearce got together with Pearce stalling on the back stretch for a lap four yellow. DeCarlo moved into second behind Foulger on the restart and Kniss brought out a yellow flag a lap later.  On this restart, DeCarlo motored ahead of Foulger for the lead. As they worked the 15th lap, Foulger took a wild ride on two wheels in turn one but somehow managed to bring it back down. This allowed DeCarlo to build a more than straightaway advantage by the time the checkered flag flew.  Foulger settled for second ahead of Bobby Motts Jr. and Danny Malfatti. By Candice Martin ANTIOCH, Calif. (July 29, 2023) – Rookie ‘shoe Andrew Pearce raced to his third local Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature win Saturday at Antioch Speedway. Pearce charged into the lead following a complete restart. Troy Foulger was an early second runner ahead of Buddy Kniss. They ran that way until Trevor Fitz slipped past Kniss for third on lap 12. Pearce built a decent lead over Foulger by the time to checkered flag waved as Fitz settled for third ahead of Kniss and Jeffrey Faulkner. Foulger picked up his track-leading seventh IMCA Sunoco Stock Car main event win in the Bowers Motorsports entry. Fred Ryland returned and set the pace early on. A low pass in turn two of the second lap gained Foulger second from Kenneth Robles. Jarrod Mounce moved into third. (July 9, 2022) – Antioch Speedway had a special place in Bobby Hogge IV’s heart as the site of his first-ever Modified feature win.  On Saturday night, it became the site of his Friesen Performance IMCA Modified career 100th victory. The Salinas speedster took the inside line from fifth starting to the front early in the 30-lap Hetrick Memorial main event, outrunning Troy Foulger to the $1,500 checkers. “It was a good night.
