Sun, sand, speed are Clash on the Coast attractions for IMCA Modifieds, Stock Cars

BAKER, Fla. (Feb. 23, 2024) – Sun, sand and speed bring 150-plus IMCA drivers to Florida for the four-race Clash on the Coast presented by IMCA.TV.

Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds will be joined by IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, making their first-ever appearance in the Sunshine State Feb. 26 and 27 at Northwest Florida Speedway in Baker and March 1 and 2 at Southern Raceway in Milton.

Speedweek features for both divisions pay $1,000 to win and a minimum of $100 to start. Feature winners become eligible to qualify for the Modified Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational or the Stock Car B & B Racing Chassis All-Star Invitational.

“We now have more than 150 drivers from 23 states and two provinces pre-entered,” said speedweek director Peyton Taylor, “including Ken Schrader for the first two nights in a Modified and Kenny Wallace all four nights in both the Modified and Stock Car.”

“Both the opportunity to race in Florida at this time of year and to compete under the IMCA sanction are what bring a lot of drivers to Clash on the Coast,” he added. “Our goal is to put on good shows in a timely manner each night. That means drivers will need to be ready to line up for their heat race, ‘B’ feature or main event when it’s time.”

Clash on the Coast champions each receive $2,500 shares of their respective $10,000 point funds.

IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, DeVilbiss Racing Chassis Eastern Region and EQ Cylinder Heads Southern Region, and Florida State points will be awarded all four nights. Tow money is $50 and entry fees are $35.

Pit passes are $35 for adults and $20 for kids ages 3-13 each race night, with spectator admission $20 for adults, $15 for seniors and veterans, $15 for students 13-17 and free for kids 12 and under. Pit gates open at 2 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5 p.m.

Parking runs from 2-6 p.m. tomorrow (Saturday) at Baker and resumes at 9:30 a.m. for the Sunday practice.

Pit passes are $25 for adults and $15 for kids, and grandstand admission is free for both the Feb. 25 practice at Baker and the Feb. 29 practice at Milton.

Teams have off Wednesday and Thursday, Feb. 28 and 29, to spend at the beach.

Ten-lap Chassis Challenge races with $2,200 purses and contingency awards will be held before features on March 2.

Top drivers in point standings in chassis built by participating manufacturers will be eligible for those races. Jerovetz Motorsports sponsors the Modified Chassis Challenge, Wehrs Machine & Racing Products the Stock Car Chassis Challenge.

B & B Racing Chassis, GRT Race Cars, Rage Chassis, Cadillac Chassis, Harris Auto Racing, Lethal Chassis and Sniper Speed are among the Chassis Challenge sponsors.

In addition to Jerovetz, Wehrs and IMCA.TV, other IMCA sponsors backing the Clash on the Coast include AERO Race Wheels, Bassett Wheel, Dynamic Drivelines, Fast Shafts, Hoosier Tire, Schoenfeld Headers, Shaw Race Cars and Velocita.

IMCA Executive Director of Competition Dave Brenn will be in attendance each night.
