IMCA Modified Anniversary Event to highlight two nights of racing at Benton County Speedway

VINTON, Iowa (May 23, 2023) – Memorial Day weekend is about to become a little more memorable for a pair of IMCA racers.

Two nights of racing will culminate with the 44th anniversary race for the IMCA Modified this weekend at Benton County Speedway.

It all starts Sunday, May 28, with the Prelude to the IMCA Modified Anniversary Event and features increased prize money for a pair of divisions at The Bullring.

Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds presented by Beatty Excavating will compete for a $1,000 top prize and Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational qualifying eligibility, while Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods vie for a $750 winner’s share.

Joining those two divisions on Sunday will be IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars presented by Christie Door Company, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks presented by Vermedahl Trucking and Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts presented by iHeart Radio.

State, Regional and National points only will be awarded for the Modifieds and SportMods in their draw/redraw Prelude event Sunday. All other weekly divisions will award all applicable points, including track points, and utilize the standard point average invert lineup procedure.

On Monday, May 29, Modifieds will compete for a $4,400 winner’s share and $400 to start for their 44th anniversary spectacular. SportMods will race for $1,800 to win and $180 to start in recognition of that division’s 18 years of competition.

The entry fee for Monday’s event is $90 for Modifieds and $40 for SportMods.

Sport Compacts will join the open wheel divisions for Monday’s program. That event will pay $250 to win and $75 to start. There is no entry fee for the Sport Compacts.
