(July 25) – Jeffrey Weaver brought a modest Pennsylvania Sprint Series re­sume into Saturday’s racing at Path Valley Speedway Park, but his track record took a huge leap when the former micro sprint racer earned his first IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car win in one of the most hotly contested feature races of 2020.  Weaver, who had a pair of fourths as his best previous PASS finishes, started the feature on the outside pole and stood up this season’s hottest PASS driver, Garrett Bard, and 2020 winners John Walp and Christian Rumsey on a night when there wasn’t a lap without a two-, three-, or even four-car battle for the lead. The River Valley Builders Pennsylvania Sprint Series kicks off its 26th season of economy Sprint Car competition in appropriate fashion on Saturday, March 30, racing at the active track where it has competed more often than anywhere else, the quarter-mile, high-banked “bullring” that is Path Valley Speedway. Located near Spring Run in far northern Franklin County, Path Valley was built and opened in 1987 to take advantage of the blossoming popularity of micro sprint racing but in 2000, then-new promoters Jack and Vicki Flowers and John Winsett decided to try out a new division of full-sized economy sprint cars that also were running at nearby Hesston Speedway. (Aug. 25) – Ken Duke Jr. is enjoying a season most racers can only dream about, winning races and leading both the Pennsylvania Sprint Series and national IMCA Rac­eSaver Sprint Car point standings, but one track was conspicuously missing from the top tier of his 2019 resume: BAPS Motor Speedway. On Sunday night, Duke took care of that small discrepancy with a convincing victory in the 20-lap PASS feature at the York County speedway. It’s not that you could call Duke’s performance at BAPS poor: he had a 12-race streak of top 10 finishes at BAPS dating to early 2017 but his last victory at the track had come nearly three years ago, on Sept. 3, 2016.
